Rams vs. Bears NFL Weather Report: Forecast calls for coldest temperatures at Soldier Field this season

It will be a much different experience for the L.A. Rams in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. The Rams will trade in the sunshine of Southern California for much colder temperatures when they face the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET, with the forecast calling for temperatures as low as 5°F/-15°C. The weather report is also calling for possible flurries, with winds in the 15 to 25 mph (24 to 40 kph) range.

Here’s how the weather could impact the Rams-Bears game.

Cold weather impact

L.A. is prioritizing familiarity ahead of the matchup, with no intention of flying to Chicago early to acclimate to the colder weather.

The Rams will continue with their normal practice schedule on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before flying to the Windy City on Saturday.

While quarterback Matthew Stafford spent the first 12 seasons of his career playing for Detroit in the NFC North, the Lions were playing out of the domed Ford Field.

In fact, Stafford has a brutal 1-9 record in his last 10 games playing in rain or snow, throwing for 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in that span.

L.A. has also struggled as a team in this situation, dropping eight of their last 10 games in Chicago while sporting a -109 point differential.

On the flip side, the Bears should be well adjusted to the cold weather as the team practices in cold weather with no heaters on the field.

With Sunday expected to be the coldest game at Soldier Field this season, you have to think it’s an advantage for the Bears.
