Rams Grind Out 12-6 Win Over 49ers in Touchdown-Free TNF
Rookie kicker Joshua Karty delivered all the scoring for the Rams, hitting four field goals to secure the win.
The Rams (8-6) followed up their 44-42 shootout victory over Buffalo with a defensive slog, moving closer to the NFC West lead. Matthew Stafford, who passed for 160 yards, made one key play in the second half—a 51-yard connection to Puka Nacua—that set up a decisive field goal.
San Francisco (5-8) led 6-3 entering the fourth quarter but failed to find the end zone, with Brock Purdy’s late interception sealing their fate. The loss marked the fourth time this season the 49ers have blown a fourth-quarter lead in a divisional game.
“It wasn’t pretty, but a win’s a win,” said Rams coach Sean McVay.
The Rams will visit the Jets on Dec. 22, while the 49ers head to Miami, hoping to keep their slim playoff chances alive.
