Raiders QB Garoppolo Set to Return from Concussion

There was some mild controversy surrounding Jimmy G’s situation. A fortnight ago. Not so much about the fact that it was deemed safe to place him in the NFL’s concussion protocol, but rather that he had not been taken out of the Sunday night Week 3 contest against the Steelers.

The Raiders headed to Los Angeles last week to play the Chargers with rookie signal caller Aidan O’Connell under centre. It was a mostly forgettable performance (three turnovers) in a 24-17 defeat.

Garoppolo’s Raiders career has gotten off to an up-and-down start. A week 1 win over arch-rivals the Denver Broncos was followed up by a crushing defeat to the Buffalo Bills, then the loss to Pittsburgh. So far he’s thrown 64-for-94, 709 yards, and five touchdowns to six interceptions.
