NFL Week 5 Betting Odds and Predictions: Best Picks Against the Spread
It’s a good week around the NFL with another London game and a potential Super Bowl preview in primetime. But it’s also the start of the byes with the Chiefs and Panthers getting the week off. Here’s a look at all of the matchups with their ATS picks on the Week 5 NFL odds. Games Sunday unless noted.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys, Thursday
Tampa Bay’s season essentially ended on Sunday in a 17-14 home loss to Green Bay to fall to 0-4 with undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels making his first NFL start at QB – Baker Mayfield is out up to six weeks injured. Daniels looked like an undrafted rookie in largely struggling but will get the call again on a short week. Dallas saved its season with a last-minute touchdown drive to win in Houston on Sunday. CeeDee Lamb had the winning catch, finishing with 189 yards on a team-record 17 receptions.
Spread
Point spread: Cowboys -9.5
Pick ATS: Dallas
Philadelphia Eagles “at” Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville always “hosts” at least one game in London per season and that’s the case this Sunday with this 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Eagles lost several starters to injury in Sunday’s 24-20 home defeat to the Rams, blowing a late 10-point lead. The big one was running back and former NFL Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley leaving early with a hamstring problem. Not having Barkley wouldn’t be good news against a Jags defence that ranks No. 2 in the NFL against the run and held the Bengals to 23 rushing yards in Sunday’s upset victory.
Spread
Point spread: Jaguars -5.5
Pick ATS: Jacksonville
Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers
The NFL’s oldest rivalry is played for the 214th time, including playoffs. They played three memorable games last season, including the Bears beating the visiting Packers in a Wild-Card thriller. The Bears will be without starting QB Caleb Williams a third straight game. Backup Tyson Bagent was a solid game manager in Sunday’s win over the Jets and will get the call again. The Packers were 17-14 winners in Tampa but are averaging just 18.3 points per game, their fewest through four games since 2006.
Point spread: Bears -2.5
Pick ATS: Green Bay alt +3
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans
Of course, the Titans used to be the Houston Oilers – the Texans have won the past three in this AFC South rivalry. The Texans had every chance to avoid 0-4 on Sunday but allowed a late Cowboys touchdown drive in a crushing 34-30 home loss. The Texans are the 1st team to start 0-4 following at least a 12-win season since the 2012 Saints. The Titans are 0-4 as well but that was pretty much expected. Cam Ward is now 3-18 in his NFL career, tying Troy Aikman for the worst record through 21 games in NFL history by a former No. 1 overall pick QB.
Point spread: Texans -6.5
Pick ATS: Tennessee alt +7
Cincinnati Bengals at Miami Dolphins
The Bengals not only were upset Sunday at home by Jacksonville but saw star wideouts Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both get injured. Chase missed most of the game after a first-half concussion. Joe Burrow had his eighth career 400-yard passing game in the 22-17 defeat. Miami is clearly the worst roster in the NFL and yet to top 13 points in a game following Sunday’s 15-10 loss at Minnesota. The Fins are yet to lead in a game.
Spread
Point spread: Bengals -7.5
Pick ATS: Miami
Las Vegas Raiders at New England Patriots
Patriots QB Drake Maye had a few more turnovers Sunday but led a late game-winning drive in a 29-26 upset win in Buffalo. Maye had three TD passes after just one in the first three weeks combined. The Raiders fell from the ranks of the unbeatens but proved they belonged in a 30-27 home loss to the Chiefs. Kirk Cousins had two more TD throws in the loss, and his four straight games with at least two to open a season is tied for the team record.
Spread
Point spread: Patriots -3.5
Pick ATS: New England alt -3
Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints
It’s a short week for the Saints after a 45-24 home loss to Atlanta on Monday to conclude Week 4. The New Orleans run defence was gashed for 205 yards and five touchdowns. That will obviously be a priority in practice this week. The Vikings remained on top of the NFC North with a 15-10 home escape Sunday against Miami, the team’s ninth straight win dating to last season. Led by a stellar defence, the Vikings have now won twice in the past three weeks without scoring a touchdown, the first team to do that twice in any three-game span since the 2000 Ravens. Superstar wideout Justin Jefferson was out Sunday but likely returns here.
Spread
Point spread: Vikings -1.5
Pick ATS: Minnesota
Cleveland Browns at New York Jets
This could be brutal offensively, and both clubs are expected to take a QB high in the 2027 NFL Draft. Although, the Browns are leading the AFC North and have won three straight games, all as underdogs, behind Deshaun Watson. He has become only the second Browns QB since 1950 with a game-winning drive in three consecutive weeks. The Jets snapped their NFL-record streak of 20 games without a defensive interception Sunday but did nothing offensively in a 23-12 loss in Chicago playing without injured top running back Breece Hall.
Point spread: Jets -1.5
Pick ATS: New York
Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Colts played their best game of the season Sunday in routing Washington, 30-13 in London. Jonathan Taylor rushed for two scores, his 19th career game with two rushing scores. That’s tied for fourth-most in NFL history before the age of 28. Indy has won back-to-back games following a nine-game skid. The Steelers were 27-24 losers in Cleveland on Thursday in Week 4. But Aaron Rodgers now has back-to-back games with at least 250 yards passing and three scores for the first time since 2021.
Spread
Point spread: Steelers -1.5
Pick ATS: Pittsburgh
New York Giants at Washington Commanders
Washington has won the past four in this NFC East matchup. Who starts at quarterback for the Commanders? No. 1 Jayden Daniels hasn’t played since Week 2 due to an elbow injury but might return. Backup Marcus Mariota left Sunday’s 30-13 loss to the Colts in London early with a knee injury, leaving rookie seventh-round pick Athan Kaliakmanis as the only one left standing. That the Commanders are favoured hints at Daniels playing. Behind backup QB Jameis Winston, the Giants beat the Cardinals, 36-24, and are first in the NFC East solo for the first time since 2015.
Spread
Point spread: Commanders -3.5
Pick ATS: Washington alt -3
Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers
Denver was a 24-14 loser at San Francisco on Sunday to see a 10-game winning streak snapped against the NFC. Superstar cornerback Patrick Surtain left with an ankle injury. The news was good overall, but he still might miss time. The Chargers shockingly are 0-4 following Sunday’s 30-23 loss in Seattle. Actually, dating to last season including playoffs they have dropped seven in a row and averaging 12.7 points per game. QB Justin Herbert doesn’t look right. These AFC West rivals split last season, each winning at home.
Spread
Point spread: Broncos -3.5
Pick ATS: Los Angeles
Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
The Lions are a different team outdoors and that showed Sunday night in a 32-26 loss at Carolina as their defence continues to struggle, now ranking last in the NFL at 31.8 PPG. Tailback Jahymr Gibbs became the second player in franchise history with at least seven scrimmage TDs through the first four games of a season in a losing effort. Arizona is also terrible defensively and lost 36-24 at the Giants on Sunday. Jacoby Brissett had three interceptions and just 116 yards passing. Perhaps a QB change this week?
Point spread: Lions -4.5
Pick ATS: Arizona
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
Big early game in the NFC West – the Seahawks won two of three in last season’s series, including the big one in the Divisional Round in a 41-6 home blowout. The Niners improved to 4-0 on Sunday with a 24-14 win over Denver to become the third team in NFL history to start 4-0 without a sack allowed. This despite the 49ers again ravaged by injury. Seattle bounced back from its first loss with a fairly easy 30-23 home win against the Chargers. That’s nine straight home wins including playoffs.
Spread
Point spread: Seahawks -3
Pick ATS: Seattle alt -2.5
Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons
Sunday night game. Short week for Atlanta after an impressive 45-24 win in New Orleans on Monday to conclude Week 4. Bijan Robinson rushed for 145 yards and two scores and that offence looks completely different since QB Michael Penix Jr. got healthy. Will Baltimore have former league MVP Lamar Jackson under centre? He left Sunday’s 24-18 win over the Titans with an ankle injury and was seen in a boot after. Jackson has missed games due to injury in three seasons in his career (2021, 2022, 2025). The Ravens ended up not winning a playoff game in any of those. Tyler Huntley is a decent No. 2.
Point spread: Ravens -2.5
Pick ATS: Atlanta alt +3
Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Rams, Monday
Might be the Monday night game of the season and no one would be surprised if we saw a rematch in the same stadium on Feb. 14 in Super Bowl 61. The Bills fell from the ranks of the unbeaten in allowing a late touchdown in a 29-26 home loss to New England on Sunday. Buffalo’s pass defence was a problem again, and the Bills have now given up 1,096 yards and 10 passing touchdowns through four games. The Rams were down 10 late in Philadelphia on Sunday but stunned the Eagles, 24-20. Kyren Williams had two rushing scores in the final five minutes. Star WR Puka Nacua returned after missing the past two injured and had nine catches for 125 yards and a rushing score.
Point spread: Rams -2.5
Pick ATS: Los Angeles
