NFL Week 10 Odds and Predictions: Best Picks Against the Spread
The NFL returns to the international stage this week with a Sunday morning matchup – albeit a terrible one – in Germany, while Cleveland, Green Bay, Las Vegas and Seattle are on their bye weeks. Also note the trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon.
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens, Thursday
Baltimore goes for the season sweep as it won a wild 41-38 OT game in Cincinnati in Week 5. Justin Tucker kicked a 56-yard field goal with 1:35 left in regulation to tie it and then won it on a 24-yard kick in OT after Bengals kicker Evan McPherson missed a 53-yard attempt due in part to a poor snap. Both these clubs easily won at home against bad teams on Sunday. The Bengals were without No. 2 WR Tee Higgins for a second straight game Sunday, and he’s in doubt for this one. Running back Zack Moss was also out Sunday and won’t make it back in time. The Ravens trashed Denver behind another huge game from tailback and NFL rushing leader Derrick Henry.
Pick ATS: Baltimore
New York Giants “at” Carolina Panthers
Kicks off at 9:30 a.m. ET from Allianz Arena in Munich. It’s a shame the German fans are being exposed to these wretched teams, although this definitely could play a role in which NFL club finishes with the worst record in the league and picks first in the 2025 draft. New York lost its fourth in a row Sunday but scored 22 points, its second most of the season. QB Daniel Jones played pretty well with three total TDs, so he won’t be benched this week. Carolina upset visiting New Orleans on Sunday, 23-22, to match its 2023 season win total with two. It marked the first time the Panthers have led in the fourth quarter in 20 career starts by 2023 No. 1 overall pick and QB Bryce Young.
Pick ATS: New York
New England Patriots at Chicago Bears
Should be a matchup between rookie quarterbacks in No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams of Chicago and No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye of New England. Williams and the Bears offence have really struggled in back-to-back road losses, but Chicago is unbeaten at home. The team was without three defensive starters in Sunday’s loss to Arizona, including star pass-rusher Montez Sweat. Maye was in some question Sunday due to injury but played well in a 20-17 OT loss at Tennessee.
Pick ATS: Chicago
Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts
The Bills were without injured No. 1 WR Amari Cooper on Sunday but beat Miami 30-27 on a Tyler Bass 61-yard field goal with five seconds left to sweep the season series and all but wrap up another AFC East title already. Cooper might return this week. The Colts benched young struggling QB Anthony Richardson ahead of Sunday’s game at Minnesota for veteran Joe Flacco but still lost a second in a row, 21-13. Flacco remains the starter “right now,” according to Coach Shane Steichen.
Pick ATS: Indianapolis
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs
Short week for Kansas City after beating visiting Tampa Bay on Monday, 30-24 in OT for a franchise-record 14th straight victory including playoffs. Even more remarkable, the Chiefs have won their last eight games when trailing in the second half, including the postseason. QB Patrick Mahomes appeared to injure himself in the fourth quarter but was able to return and said he would be fine. Denver had a two-game winning streak snapped in lopsided fashion Sunday in a 41-10 loss in Baltimore – easily the Broncos’ most points allowed and biggest loss of the year. On Monday, Denver traded pass-rusher Baron Browning to Arizona for a 2025 sixth-round pick. It’s the first meeting of the regular season between AFC West rivals, and they close it Week 18 in Denver.
Pick ATS: Denver
Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints
The Saints lost their seventh straight game on Sunday, 23-22 at atrocious Carolina, and to no surprise head coach Dennis Allen was fired Monday. This is a team that won its first two games by 37 and 25 points yet hasn’t won since. Special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi has been named the interim coach. No. 1 WR Chris Olave suffered his second concussion in recent weeks, so he’s probably out at least this game if not longer. The Falcons won for the fifth time in six games Sunday, 27-21 over Dallas but lost No. 1 WR Drake London to a hip injury. He might miss this week, but it’s not believed to be a long-term issue. Atlanta beat visiting New Orleans, 26-24, in Week 4 on a Younghoe Koo 58-yard field goal with two seconds left.
Pick ATS: New Orleans (alternate line of +3.5)
San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tough schedule for the Bucs as they played the reigning Super Bowl champion on Monday night and lost 30-24 in OT in Kansas City and now on a short week have to play the reigning NFC champion 49ers. Tampa Bay played great in K.C. but for some reason in the final seconds of regulation, Coach Todd Bowled opted to kick the tying PAT instead of tying for two and the win. Clearly a mistake. San Francisco comes off its bye week as one of the NFL’s big disappointments but has been ravaged by injury. Running back and 2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey is expected to make his season debut, however, on Sunday.
Pick ATS: San Francisco
Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington Commanders
Pittsburgh comes out of its bye at 6-2 and first in the AFC North with Russell Wilson now clearly entrenched as the team’s starting quarterback. The Steelers have totaled 63 points in his two starts since replacing Justin Fields. Washington played without No. 1 running back Brian Robinson on Sunday but won 27-22 at the Giants to maintain its lead atop the NFC East. The team’s 7-2 start is its best since 1996, which was also the last time the Commanders were at least five games over .500 in any season. QB Jayden Daniels is winning Offensive Rookie of the Year barring injury.
Pick ATS: Pittsburgh (alternate line of +3)
Minnesota Vikings at Jacksonville Jaguars
Minnesota snapped a two-game skid with a 21-13 home win over Indianapolis on Sunday, which was crucial because this starts a three-game road swing. Vikings QB Sam Darnold is now one win shy of tying his single-season career high (seven in 2019) and two passing TDs shy of his career high (19 in 2019). Justin Jefferson had his second straight 100-yard game and leads the league with 783 yards receiving. The Jags lost their second in a row, 28-23 in Philadelphia, but played well enough for embattled coach Doug Pederson to keep his job one more week. Jacksonville has five losses by between 1-5 points this season, most in the league.
Pick ATS: Jacksonville
Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Chargers
Tennessee snapped a three-game skid Sunday in a 20-17 home OT win over New England. Already missing two cornerbacks injured, the Titans safety Quandre Diggs suffered a season-ending injury as did centre Lloyd Cushenberry. Starting QB Will Levis was inactive due to injury for a third straight game and might have lost the job regardless to Mason Rudolph. Jim Harbaugh is working his magic with the Chargers, who improved to 5-3 with Sunday’s very impressive 27-10 win in Cleveland. The Bolts still haven’t allowed a team to score more than 20 points this year and lead the NFL in scoring defence.
Pick ATS: Los Angeles (alternate line of -7)
Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys
First meeting of the season between bitter NFC East rivals, and they meet again Week 17. They split in 2023, each winning at home. The Cowboys are probably toast for this season in terms of the playoffs following a third straight loss on Sunday, 27-21 in Atlanta, as they also lost starting QB Dak Prescott for multiple weeks to a hamstring injury. Cooper Rush will take over and is 5-1 in his career as the Dallas starter. The Eagles won their fourth straight game Sunday, 28-23 over Jacksonville. Saquon Barkley had his third consecutive 100-yard rushing game. QB Jalen Hurts has 12 total TDs and zero turnovers in the winning streak.
Pick ATS: Dallas (alternate line of +7.5)
New York Jets at Arizona Cardinals
The Jets temporarily saved their season on Thursday in Week 9 by snapping a five-game skid with a 21-13 home win over Houston – despite New York still making costly mistake after mistake. Aaron Rodgers had his first game with three TD passes since Week 10 in 2022 and the defence had eight sacks, its most since 2013. It might surprise you to learn that Arizona is alone atop the NFC West after a third straight win Sunday, 29-9 over Chicago. The Cards allowed season lows in points and total yards (241) with a season-high six sacks.
Pick ATS: New York
Detroit Lions at Houston Texans
Sunday night game and a possible Super Bowl LIX preview with both teams leading their respective divisions. They are two of four active franchises to never play in a Super Bowl. A stellar young receiver on each side is expected back in Detroit’s Jameson Williams (from a two-game suspension) and Houston’s Nico Collins (from injured reserve). The Lions have the NFC’s best record at 7-1, their best start since 1956. The Texans are unbeaten at home compared to 2-3 away.
Pick ATS: Houston (alternate line of +3.5)
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Rams, Monday
The NFL can flex Monday night games nowadays but only from Weeks 12-17 – otherwise, this most likely would have been flexed out with both teams having disappointed. Any realistic shot the Dolphins had at a third straight playoff appearance likely ended Sunday in a last-second 30-27 loss in Buffalo. Tua Tagovailoa dropped to 6-13 in his career vs. teams with a winning record. The Rams are in the thick of the NFC West race following a third straight win Sunday, 26-20 in OT in Seattle. Matthew Stafford had his third career game-winning TD pass in OT, tied for the second most-all-time. He has six TD passes in the past two games after just three in the first six.
Pick ATS: Los Angeles
