The Kansas City Chiefs have won five in a row, covering the point spread in each of those games.
Success in the NFL is about adjustments and managing momentum. The best teams in the league start fresh every week and feed off positivity as things change so much from one week to the next.
The Kansas City Chiefs are a good example of that. They had just one win after six games but have rebounded to get back in the playoff hunt with five straight victories. The Chiefs covered in each of their wins and the Week 13 odds have them set as 3-point favourites on the road against the Raiders.
Can they make it six in a row?

Thursday Night Football
Point spread: Packers -3
The Lions have already beaten Green Bay at Lambeau Field this season finally showed a glimpse of their offensive potential last week by putting up 45 points against Chip Kelly and his free-falling Eagles on Thanksgiving. Plus, Detroit has allowed only 43 points over the last three games.
Pick against the point spread: Lions +3
Point spread: Cardinals -6 / Cardinals -5.5
Without anything resembling a passing game, Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley is a sitting duck. The Cardinals will stack the box and force St. Louis to put the ball in the air, which won’t end well. The Rams have eight passing touchdowns and nine interceptions in the last 11 games.
Pick against the point spread: Cardinals -6
Point spread: Buccaneers -2
Matty Ice is as cold as his nickname with 10 interceptions and three lost fumbles in his last seven games. You have to think the Falcons will snap out of this slump at some point, but it’s hard to trust them on the road against a team they’ve already lost to this year.
Pick against the spread: Buccaneers -2
Point spread: Dolphins -4 Total: 43.5
The Dolphins have major issues after firing key parts of their coaching staff while the real problems lie with the team’s personnel. The only bright side to this situation is this week’s opponent. Injuries have just sapped the Ravens of too much talent.
Pick against the spread: Dolphins -4
Point spread: N/A

Point spread: Bills -3
Now this is the defence we were hoping for from the Houston Texans. Houston has held three of its last four opponents to just six points apiece.
Pick against the spread: Texans +3
Point spread: Titans -2.5
Total: 43 / 43.5
The Jags dropped the Titans 19-13 two weeks ago but Tennessee opens as the home favourite in Week 12. Jacksonville is a better team at this point in the year and this line may move before kickoff on Sunday. You may want to take the points while you can.
Pick against the spread: Jaguars +2.5
Point spread: Jets -1 / Jets -2.5
The Giants continue to be the most difficult team to handicap in the NFL. They could blow out the Jets by 20 points or lose by four touchdowns. Neither should surprise you at this point.
Pick against the spread: Jets -1
Point spread: Bears -6.5 / Bears -7
Who would have thought the Bears would open as 6.5-point favourites with a chance to get back to .500 in Week 12 after their terrible 0-3 start? The main difference between this edition of the Bears and last year’s is that they actually care.
Pick against the spread: Bears -6.5
Point spread: Seahawks -1 / Pick ’em
The Vikings are very similar to Seattle teams we’ve seen in the past few seasons – great running game and a strong defence. Actually, the Vikings may be a better version of the Seahawks than Seattle is this season.
Pick against the spread: Vikings +1
Point spread: Broncos -4.5
This looks like a gimme for the Broncos, but you do have to worry a bit about a possible letdown after ending the Patriots’ perfect season.
Pick against the spread: Broncos -4.5
Point spread: Chiefs -3
If you haven’t noticed, the Kansas City Chiefs have won five in a row and covered the point spread in each of those. If Alex Smith keeps throwing the ball downfield occasionally, the Chiefs are going to be dangerous.
Pick against the spread: Chiefs -3
Point spread: Panthers -7
Total: 49.5 /50
Scary thought: the Carolina Panthers are a team that’s improving every week. In Week 12 they only needed 165 passing yards from Cam Newton to beat up on the Cowboys 33-14. Cam might get all the headlines, but this team’s success is rooted in defence, something you can’t exactly say for the sputtering New Orleans Saints.
Pick against the spread: Panthers -7
Point spread: Patriots -9.5
If the Patriots were facing any other team, you’d have to take a long look at the points. But these are Chip Kelly’s dysfunctional Eagles. Belichick and Brady will find a way to pick them apart.
Pick against the spread: Patriots -9.5

Point spread: Washington -4 / Washington -4.5
Kirk Cousins has thrown for more than 300 yards in three of his last five games with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions over that span. Washington is pushing for a division crown while Dallas is already playing for next year now that Tony Romo’s season is done.
Pick against the spread: Washington -4
