NFL Spreads Week 10: Best Picks Against the Spread

Andy Dalton Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals aren’t just a perfect 8-0 heading into Week 10, they’re the best bet in the NFL.

Before the season began, the Cincinnati Bengals were expected to be an afterthought in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. Sports Interaction had the Bengals in the middle of the pack in Super Bowl 50 odds at +4000 but now it’s clear everyone overlooked Cincinnati, which is just behind New England (+150) and Green Bay (+600) on the current Super Bowl odds at +800.

The Bengals are unbeaten at 8-0 and have made a killing for bettors with a 7-0-1 record against the spread. Oddsmakers opened Week 10 odds with Cincinnati set as a 10.5-point favourite at home to Houston on Monday Night Football.

NFL Spreads Week 9: Best Picks Against the Spread

Thursday Night Football

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

Point spread: New York Jets -2.5 / New York Jets -1.5

Total: 42.5

Rex Ryan returns to New York to face a much better Jets team than he had in his run as head coach. The Bills’ running game looked great in Week 9, but will have a much tougher time against the Jets. When Buffalo struggles to run the ball, it struggles to move the chains.

Pick against the point spread: Jets -2.5

 Carolina Panthers at Tennessee Titans

Point Spread: Panthers -4.5 / Carolina -5.5

Total: 42.5

After Marcus Mariota played overtime hero in Tennessee’s upset win in New Orleans, the Titans host Cam “Superman” Newton and the 8-0 Panthers. Carolina’s getting it done on both sides of the ball and will be in the rookie quarterback’s face all day.

Pick against the spread: Panthers -4.5

Chicago Bears at St. Louis Rams

Point spread: Rams -7.5

Total: 42.5

It was all doom and gloom around Chicago when Matt Forte went down, but the Bears showed a lot of guts coming back in the second half to beat the Chargers on the road. The same can’t be said about the Rams recently.

Pick against the spread: Bears +7.5

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers

Point spread: Steelers -4.5

Total: 41

If Ben Roethlisberger (foot) toughs it out this weekend, this line is a bargain. If he sits, the Steelers still have a decent shot of downing the Browns at home.

Pick against the spread: Steelers -4.5

Dallas Cowboys at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Point spread: Buccaneers -1.5

Total: 43.5

Dallas got a big games from Matt Cassel, Dez Bryant, Cole Beasley and Darren McFadden against Philadelphia and still managed to lose in overtime. If the Cowboys can’t get this game on the road, stick a fork in ’em.

Pick against the spread: Cowboys +1.5

Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers

Point spread: Packers -11.5

Total: 47.5

Green Bay has lost consecutive games and will look to take out its frustrations on Detroit’s defence. The Lions rank No. 30 against the run and allow more than 30 points per game. Seems like a good spot for the Packers to put some points on the board and snap this slump.

Pick against the spread: Packers -11.5

Jacksonville Jaguars at Baltimore Ravens

Point spread: Ravens -6 / Ravens -5.5

Total: 48.5

When the Ravens lost Steve Smith to injury, they lost the heartbeat of their offence too. Jacksonville is good against the run and should be able to contain Joe Flacco with Smith out of the picture. The Jags upset the Bills two weeks ago and went down to the wire in a tough loss to the Jets in Week 9.

Pick against the spread: Jaguars +6

Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles

Point spread: Eagles -6.5

Total: 47

The Eagles finally seem to have their running game together just in time to face a Dolphins team that ranks 31st against the run allowing more than 140 rushing yards per game. Expect to see a lot from DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews in this one.

Pick against the spread: Eagles -6.5

New Orleans Saints at Washington

Point spread: Saints -1.5 / Saints -1

Total: 50

This looks like the weekly coin flip. Whichever team ends up with the ball probably wins so we’ll side with the home team.

Pick against the spread: Washington +1.5

Minnesota Vikings at Oakland Raiders

Point spread: N/A

Total: N/A

Pick against the spread:

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos

Point spread: Broncos -7 / Broncos -6

Total: 42

A lot has changed since these teams hooked up in Week 1. Now, the Broncos realize it’s wise to have Peyton Manning work out of the shotgun and that they can win games without putting 30 points on the board. After last week’s hiccup the Broncos should get back in the win column at home.

Pick against the spread: Broncos -7

New England Patriots at New York Giants

Point spread: Patriots -7

Total: 55

Until the Patriots show they can’t cover big spreads, you have to keep betting on them – even at -7 on the road. You still can’t depend on the Giants’ attack from one week to the next.

Pick against the spread: Patriots -7

Sunday Night Football

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks

Point spread: Seahawks -3

Total: 45

Even though it’s tough to bet against Seattle at home, you don’t have to dig deep into the numbers for this one. Arizona owns the No. 4 total offence and the No. 3 total defence in the league this year.

Pick against the spread: Cardinals +3

Monday Night Football

Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals

Point spread: Bengals -10.5

Total: 47

Outside of DeAndre Hopkins, the Houston Texans just don’t have many other playermakers on offence. Still, this is a huge line with the Texans coming off a bye on Monday Night Football. Take the points.

Pick against the spread: Texans +10.5
