The above NFL odds come courtesy of Sports Interaction, and the teams to keep an eye on are always the ones who might have more motivation. That includes the likes of the Titans, who will likely give rookie quarterback Cam Ward some work, while the Giants should look to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart to put forth another solid effort against the Jets as he continues to prove himself in these preseason games.
NFL Preseason Week 2 Latest News and Rumours
There is no shortage of compelling stories swirling around the NFL heading into the second week of the preseason, most notably in Miami, where teams around the league are monitoring the situation with wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who is a potential trade candidate this season.
The veteran wideout ended last season saying he wanted a trade from Miami, and while he has since retracted that claim, there’s always the possibility that the future Hall of Famer could get traded during the season if things go south for the Dolphins.
Other than the uncertainty in Miami, the other notable storyline comes in New York, where the Jets are supposedly looking to shop running back Breece Hall prior to the trade deadline.
Hall would be moved in order for Braelon Allen to be the starter in the backfield, as the coaching staff has been very impressed by Allen. Hall is entering the final year of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2026.
NFL Preseason Week 2 Betting Predictions
Tennessee Titans -4.5 (-110) over Atlanta Falcons
As previously mentioned, the Titans can be expected to give rookie quarterback Cam Ward at least a quarter’s worth of playing time in this preseason game. Ward is clearly still working out the kinks of how to play at the NFL level, but he did show flashes in last week’s loss to the Buccaneers.
On the other side, Atlanta will likely turn to a combination of Emory Jones and Easton Stick at quarterback, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the Falcons’ offense. Atlanta also only mustered up 22 rushing yards in its loss to Detroit last week, so we’ll trust the Titans’ defense to put forth a similar effort on Friday.
New York Giants -3 (-110) over New York Jets
We backed the Giants to knock off the Bills last week, and I see no reason not to go back to the well with Brian Daboll’s group against their crosstown rivals in this one. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart looked very solid in his half of action, and Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston also played pretty well in limited duty.
On the other side of the ball, the Giants’ front seven is arguably the best in football and while rookie defensive end Abdul Carter will likely be limited, he managed to make an immediate impact against an elite Bills offensive line last week. The Jets’ offensive line certainly is a step down in class, so Carter and the Giants should be successful once again on Saturday.
