NFL Predictions: Rob Gronkowski Odds with Buccaneers
He’s baaack. The NFL continues to dominate the sports pages while most major sports leagues contemplate what their next move will be; Tuesday afternoon it happened again.
Star Tight End Rob Gronkowski is on his way to Tampa Bay. The Patriots sent the five-time Pro Bowler plus a 7th-round draft pick to the Buccaneers in exchange for a 4th-round pick. Gronkowski announced his retirement in March 2019, shortly after the Patriots’ Super Bowl win over the Rams and told the media at the time, “I knew I was done — I had to step away from the game of football — in order to let my body heal.” He then sat out the following season.
So, Brady and Gronk are back together again. The dynamic duo will look to expand on their already winning combination that includes 90 touchdown passes over nine seasons and three Super Bowl titles together. What will they do this year?
Receiving Yards totals
Sports Interaction’s Line Management team has established odds and numbers for Rob Gronkowski’s stats for the upcoming 2020 season. His total yards number has been placed at 675.5 yards for the season. In his last season (2018) he topped that mark by seven yards (682 yards) in 11 starts. He has also broken that yardage total in four of his last five seasons, but here’s where it gets tricky. Gronk is no stranger to the injury reserve list. He has missed over 35 games over nine years, suffering more than 10 injuries over the course of that time.
Touchdown totals
Here is an interesting stat when looking at the Bucs upcoming season. Sports Interaction has Gronkowski’s touchdown over/under number listed at 4. Tom Brady will have so many options when distributing the ball; Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, OJ Howard (unless he is traded) and now Gronk. When healthy, Gronkowski has been a touchdown magnet in his NFL career. In 100 career regular season starts (115 games in total in nine seasons) Gronkowski has 79 touchdown catches (regular season) for an average of 8.7 touchdown catches over his nine years. However, in two of his last three seasons, Gronk has only managed to catch three majors in those years.
