NFL Draft Odds Move: Chicago Bears Trading to Draft Ashton Jeanty?

There could be a big trade brewing ahead of tonight’s NFL Entry Draft.

Earlier this week the Jacksonville Jaguars were around -195 to take Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 5 overall pick. Now, after a major move on the NFL Draft odds board, the Chicago Bears as -145 favourites to make a deal with their No. 10 pick to select Jeanty fifth.

Jeanty is widely considered to be the best running back in the draft and is at -10,000 to be the first RB to go off the board tonight. He is coming off a season where he ran for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns, while topping 100 yards in all 14 games he played.

At 5-foot-9 and 211 pounds, Jeanty has the toughness to run between the tackles and the speed to take it to the house. He can catch the ball, too, and led FBS with 397 touches last year. Jeanty is also strong in pass protection – which would be music to Caleb Williams’ ears.
