NFL: Buffalo Ready for Huge Day Against the Patriots (VIDEO)

It’s only Week 3 but Bills fans can’t remember a game this big in Buffalo. Al Dannity breaks down this clash of unbeatens in the AFC East.

Pressure what pressure?
The days of Jim Kelly are long in the past. Hell, the days of Drew Bledsoe are too. Now however there is a quarterback who has united Bills fans everywhere. Oh-oh-Fitzmagic.

Against the Patriots on Sunday, Ryan Fitzpatrick will have opportunities to throw. We’ll get to New England’s offensive might shortly but their defense is leaky and that’s great news for the Bills. You don’t need Fitzpatrick’s Harvard education to recognise the issues plaguing the Patriots. Despite their 2-0 start, the Pats are giving up 479 yards per game, including 381 passing yards per game. Only the Dolphins having given up more yardage in total than the Patriots. In addition Fitzpatrick’s big arm, Buffalo’s league leading rushing game should give home fans cause for hope.

Here’s the thing
While I expect New England’s defensive woes to hurt them down the line, they are doing enough on offense to get by for now. Tom Brady has completed 63 of 88 passes as the Patriots raced to the top of the NFL offensive charts. The running game, headed up by BenJarvus ‘The Law Firm’ Green Ellis, is tough but largely supplementary to New England’s multi-dimensional passing attack. Brady has so many different sets to work with, it’s near impossible for defenses to keep this attack at bay. Even in a hostile road environment, the Pats should be able to put up some big numbers through the air.

The verdict
The Bills are used to scoring a lot this season and they will need to be on Sunday. There is simply no question that the Patriots will put points on the board and NFL betting fans can expect a clear challenge to be laid down by Brady and co. early. If Buffalo can absorb the early pressure, the Bills have a great shot at making a fight of this game. Sadly for Buffalo fans, that’s really the best they can hope for. There’s simply too much talent on the Patriots’ roster to seriously consider anything but a road victory. Buffalo will put up a tremendous effort but it won’t be enough. I like the Patriots to pull away in the second half and win as -9.0 favorites.
