NY Jets Sign One-Time QB Trevor Siemian

If the name sounds familiar, that’s because long-time fans with good memories will recall that Siemian was briefly on the Jets roster in 2019. He played only one game and suffered a season-ending injury.

Up until now, he was a free agent after being released by the Cincinnati Bengals during the pre-season campaign. His career started in 2015 with the Denver Broncos, filling the shoes left by Hall of Famer Peyton Manning after the latter retired.

Since then he’s had brief spells with the Jets (2019), the New Orleans Saints (2021) and the Chicago Bears (2022). For his career, he has a completion percentage of 58.9 per cent (621-for-1055) for 7,027 yards, 42 TDs and 28 INTs.

He joins starter Zach Wilson and fellow backup Tim Boyle.

Things don’t get any easier for the Jets as they prepare themselves to host the Kansas City Chiefs under the bright Sunday night spotlights in Week 4.
