Buffalo Bills starting kicker Matt Prater is listed as “day-to-day” after re-aggravating a right quad injury in Week 18. His status for Sunday’s AFC Wild Card game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is questionable.

Prater did not participate in a walkthrough on Wednesday but was expected to be evaluated at practice on Thursday. The Bills signed kicker Matthew Wright to the practice squad as a contingency plan.

The visiting Bills are set as 1-point favourites on the NFL odds board.

Buffalo concluded its regular season in Week 18 against the New York Jets, a game Prater exited in the third quarter due to the injury.

In 15 regular season games in 2025, Prater converted 18-of-20 field goal attempts (90%) and 46-of-49 extra point tries (93.9%). He was 1-for-2 on attempts of 50 or more yards, with a season long of 52 yards. Prater also handled kickoff duties, recording 11 touchbacks on 84 kicks.
