Jets vs. Bengals Point Spread: NFL Week 8 Odds, Prediction

Week 8 of the 2025 NFL campaign includes a showdown in the AFC between the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon.

This season has been a complete disaster for the Jets, who are the league’s only winless team at 0-7. The Bengals, currently without quarterback Joe Burrow, have been all over the place. They were 2-4 but earned a huge divisional win over the Steelers on Thursday Night Football last week.

New York leads the overall head-to-head series 18-11, but the tide has turned over the past decade or so. Following a 1-9 stretch against the Jets, the Bengals have since compiled a 4-1 record – most recently prevailing 27-12 on the road during the 2022 regular season.

Cincinnati is a 6.5-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, with the total set at 44.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Jets have actually been competitive at times in 2025, so their 3-4 effort against the spread is much better than their overall record. However, they are 7-14 ATS in their last 21 dating back to last season. The Bengals are 9-6 ATS in their last 15 and 4-1 ATS in their last five against the Jets. The over is 11-5-1 in Cincinnati’s past 17 outings.

In addition to the more traditional lines, the first-quarter spread is -0.5 in Cincinnati’s favour and the first-half spread is -3.5. On the prop-betting front, Bengals running back Chase Brown is -140 to score at least one touchdown. Breece Hall (-115) has the best odds among Jets players to find the end zone.

New York Jets

Quarterback Justin Fields got benched at halftime during last week’s 13-6 loss to the Carolina Panthers at MetLife Stadium. Fields completed six of 12 passes for an anemic 46 yards before being replaced by backup Tyrod Taylor. Things did not get any better in the second half, as New York managed just one field goal – just as it did in the first. Taylor went 10-of-22 for 126 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Head coach Aaron Glenn has not yet announced a starter for Sunday.

Of course, it hardly matters who is under centre for the Jets. Neither QB has played well at any point this season and the rest of the team offers little help. Moreover, top receiver Garrett Wilson (knee) is questionable along with both starting cornerbacks – Sauce Gardner (concussion) and Michael Carter II (concussion).

Cincinnati Bengals

This season has already been an absolute rollercoaster ride in Cincinnati, largely because of the quarterback position. Burrow went down with a toe injury that will sideline him for at least three months. Jake Browning was not the answer – the Bengals went 0-3 with him as the starter. That prompted a trade for Joe Flacco, who promptly lit up the Pittsburgh Steelers to the tune of 342 yards on 31-of-47 passing with three touchdowns and zero interceptions during a 33-31 victory.

Star receiver Ja’Marr Chase went off with 16 receptions on 23 targets for 161 yards and a touchdown. Flacco knows he does not have to do anything special – just get the ball in his best player’s hands. As such, Chase should be in line for another huge day – especially if Gardner is out for the Jets.

NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Jets vs. Bengals?

The Jets are awful and the Bengals are suddenly looking dangerous with Flacco running the offence. Moreover, Cincinnati is playing on extra rest after being featured on Thursday Night Football last week. The Bengals should prevail 27-17.
