The Dolphins look to continue its defensive dominance Sunday afternoon as it tangles with a New York Giants team that is running out of time to make a run at the NFC East championship. Miami is a comfortable favourite here on the strength of four consecutive wins, and has held opponents to just 46 total points over that span.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Dolphins are one of the hottest teams in the betting world at the moment, having covered four straight games to improve to 6-5-1 ATS for the season. And Miami’s advantage of playing at Hard Rock Stadium is magnified by the fact that the Giants have dropped five of their past six road games. That said, New York has also made bettors happy with covers in four of its last five overall, including three straight-up wins as an underdog.

Miami has the ATS backing of more than three-quarters of Sports Interaction participants, while a whopping 86 percent of respondents are on the O41 at -110 as of mid-week. It’s no surprise to see the Over prevail when the total is this low, though it’s worth considering that both of these teams are trending toward the Under (Miami is 5-7, while New York is 3-7-1). The Giants, in particular, have been a red-hot Under play, averaging 32.8 total points over their last five.

New York Giants

Consistency has been elusive for the Giants, who haven’t won consecutive games all season. And the real problem for the G-Men has been major defensive letdowns following victories; New York is allowing an average of 31.3 points in games immediately after its three wins in 2021, with each of those games played on the road. And with the Giants allowing 29 points per game away from MetLife Stadium on the year, it’s easy to see why Miami is favoured.

Miami Dolphins

The defence has generated much of the buzz during the Dolphins’ four-game run, but the offence is starting to bear its teeth, as well. Miami has increased its point total in each of the past three weeks, reaching a crescendo in last week’s 33-10 rout of the Carolina Panthers. But there’s still plenty of work to do here – particularly on the rushing side, where the Dolphins rank 31st out of 32 teams at a paltry 80.2 yards per game.
