The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to stop the bleeding after dropping three straight games. They will have to do so on the road, as they travel to Carolina to face the Panthers this weekend. Carolina started the year 3-0 but is coming off a bad blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Which team will be able to get themselves back on track in this one?

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Eagles haven’t been great straight up or against the spread as of late. In their last three games, they are 0-3 ATS overall and in their past seven they are just 1-6 SU. It doesn’t get much better for Philadelphia after that. They are 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games. This team is going to need a great game to break all of these negative streaks.

Meanwhile, the Panthers 1-5 SU and 1-5 ATS in their last six home games as the favourite. Carolina has been consistently hitting the under. The total has hit the under in six of their last seven games when playing a team with a losing record.

Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts hasn’t been as bad as everybody seems to believe. He has thrown for 1,167 yards, seven touchdowns and just two interceptions on the year. Hurts has admittedly had poor outings this season, but overall, he has helped this offence see some type of consistency. Miles Sanders hasn’t been utilized all that much, as he has just 169 yards on 37 total carries in the ground game. Hurts could really use some help from the backfield – or at least a commitment to it – to take some of the burden off.

Rookie wideout DeVonta Smith will be Hurts’ go-to man in this one, already leading the team with 237 receiving yards. The question is, can the Eagles go on the road and beat a good Panthers defence with just a Hurts-Smith show? They’ll need help from the rest of the cast – including a banged up offensive line – if they’re going to end their losing streak.

Carolina Panthers

The health of superstar running back Christian McCaffrey is definitely going to be a big question looming over the Panthers this week. Assuming he isn’t able to go due to that hamstring injury, rookie back Chuba Hubbard will take over the starting job once again. Hubbard will look to take some pressure off of Sam Darold’s shoulders. Darnold has thrown for 1,189 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions, while leading the league with five rushing scores. He has clearly taken a liking to D.J. Moore, who leads the team in targets and has hauled in 30 receptions for 398 yards. Last week, this team got into a shootout and they weren’t able to hang around. If they can slow the Eagles offence, this game should be played at a much more manageable pace
