The Miami Dolphins improved to 3-7 on the season after a huge upset win over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. The win marked their second straight and maybe it could be the beginning of a late-season turnaround. They have to make it past the New York Jets first, a team that has a historically bad defense right now. In fact, during their two-game losing streak, they have allowed 90 points to their opponents. Can Miami keep their streak alive or will the Jets finally break out of theirs?

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Dolphins seem to get better during the month of November, winning six of their last seven games against the spread during this time. They are also 4-1 ATS in their last five when allowing less than 15 points in their previous game. As you could expect from a below average offense, Miami has seen the under cash out in six of their last seven games when going up against teams in the AFC East division.

On the other hand, the Jets are just 2-8 ATS in their past ten games overall and the exact same record against the spread when entering the matchup as an underdog. New York is also 0-5 ATS when going up against another team with a losing record. Due to their atrocious defense, the over has cashed out in their past six games overall and their last five during Week 11.

Miami Dolphins

Miami has been improving defensively of late, which is the cause of their recent winning streak. This group of guys have held opponents to just 19 total points in their last two games, including a huge primetime matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. It’s the offense that is seriously causing them issues this season. Tua Tagovailoa has been named the starter but with a weak offensive line and a genuine lack of weapons outside, it won’t be easy. Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki have been their most consistent, but outside of them, they are really thin – especially with DeVante Parker still out due to injury. Running the football has also been a major struggle, with Myles Gaskin leading the team with 100 carries and just 344 total yards. Miami should be fine defensively, but it’s that horrible offense that really needs to start piecing things together and fast.

New York Jets

The Jets defense is atrocious right now by almost any metric. The concern is that new head coach, Robert Saleh, was a supposed to be a defensive guru but his expertise is not shining. They are equally as bad on the offensive side with no real answer at the quarterback position as of right now.

Rookie Zach Wilson has thrown nine interceptions in just six games and has missed the last four, leaving time for Mike White to carve out a spot for himself. White is expected to start again and after leading New York to a big win a few weeks ago over the Cincinnati Bengals but he hasn’t done much since. This Jets team has so many holes to plug up for this game and are really just hoping to squeak by off their offense, which isn’t very great.
