To say it was an interesting week for the Miami Dolphins would a criminal understatement. The Fish look to blow past their latest controversy when they line up against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Miami Dolphins vs. Atlanta Falcons

Point Spread: Falcons -12 Date: Oct. 15, 1:00 PM ET Location: Mercedes-Benz Stadium – Atlanta, Georgia

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Falcons are 12-point favourites (-110) on the Sports Interaction odds board with a 46-point total pinned on the game.

Outside of what’s going on off the field, the Dolphins’ lackluster offense is the story on the field in Miami. The Dolphins are last in the league in total offense (231.3 ypg) and points scored per game at 10.3. It’s no surprise the under is 5-0 in Miami’s last five contests. The over, though, is 12-1 in Atlanta’s last 13 home games.

The Falcons are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games coming off a bye week and 5-1 ATS in their last six games coming off an ATS loss.

Sports Interaction has Miami at -182 to kick more punts than Atlanta on Sunday. This might be a good wager for prop players.

Miami Dolphins

Miami parted ways with offensive line coach Chris Foerster on Monday after a video went viral late Sunday night showing Foerster snorting a white, powdery substance in his Dolphins office.

The personnel change might help the squad, but the scandal will still be a distraction for the players and coaching staff. Miami head coach Adam Gase specializes in offense – which means the team’s poor offensive output and its coaching hires fall on his shoulders. Gase might need to update his resume soon if the Dolphins don’t right the ship quickly.

Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta was happy to see its bye week come so early in the season after wide receivers Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu both went down with injuries in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills.

Jones is back at practice and should be all systems go for this weekend as is outside linebacker and last year’s league leader in sacks Vic Beasley. Sanu hadn’t practiced by midweek but the Falcons were still hopeful about the wideout’s chances of playing against Miami.
