Detroit Lions’ RB David Montgomery to Miss “A Couple of Weeks”
The Detroit Lions got a little dose of reality on Sunday afternoon in Week 2. After being showered with praise for their impressive win at Kansas City in Week 1, they fell to the Seattle Seahawks in overtime, 37-31. To add salt to the wound, so to speak, running back David Montgomery himself believes he’ll miss a few weeks because of a thigh injury he suffered during the game.

Lions RB David Montgomery Could be Out for a Few Weeks
Montgomery caught the injury in the fourth quarter of a furious contest against Seattle. He was carted to the locker room and did not return. After the game, he was seen limping.
Head coach Dan Campbell didn’t have much to add but admitted there may be an issue with his ball carrier.
“It looks like a thigh bruise. I’ll know more Monday.”
Montgomery had played his part in keeping the contest as close as it was, rushing for 67 yards on 16 touches and scoring one touchdown. Should he indeed be lost for a few games, it would open the door for 2023 draftee Jahmyr Gibbs to have a heavier workload.
The Detroit Lions remain home for Week 3 when the Atlanta Falcons come to town.
