Colts vs. Bills Point Spread: NFL Week 14 Odds, Prediction
The Bills saw their already-slim division title hopes disappear with last week’s 23-3 drubbing at the hands of the New England Patriots. But with a winnable game this weekend and two meetings with struggling Miami, the Bills still have an outside shot at a playoff spot.
Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Bills haven’t instilled much confidence in bettors of late, covering just once in their previous five games. And they’ve also had trouble getting up for inferior competition, going a dismal 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games against teams with losing records. And while the Colts have covered just twice in their previous seven, they’re a red-hot 6-0 against the spread in their last six when scoring fewer than 15 points in their prior game.
While Buffalo hasn’t been a solid cover play in recent weeks, the Bills have consistently rewarded over bettors – they’re 16-5 O/U in their last 21 games overall, and have exceeded the total in six consecutive home games against teams with losing road records. Those strong over trends run counter to the Colts’ recent play; they’ve produced four consecutive unders, and are are 1-4 O/U in their previous five games following a straight-up defeat.

Indianapolis Colts
If the Colts have any hope of ending their three-game losing skid, they’ll need to do a much better job of keeping their quarterback upright. Jacoby Brissett has had a long season in that regard, with the Indianapolis offensive line having yielded an absurd 51 sacks to date – easily the most in the NFL this season, and seven more than Indianapolis allowed all of last year. The Bills rank eighth in the league with 39 sacks through 12 games.
Buffalo Bills
Bills head coach Sean McDermott insists that, when healthy, Tyrod Taylor is his starting quarterback. But Taylor might not be healthy enough to get the nod this week as he recovers from a patella tendon injury suffered in last week’s loss to the Patriots. If Taylor’s wonky left knee keeps him off the field, bettors might be treated to another appearance by Nathan Peterman, who famously threw five first-half interceptions in his only NFL action.
