Cleveland Browns’ RB Nick Chubb Knee Injured, Out for Season

The Cleveland Browns were handed a double dose of bad news on Monday night. For one, host Pittsburgh Steelers said “not so fast” by handing the visitors a nerve-wracking 26-22 defeat. Second, Pro Bowl calibre running back Nick Chubb didn’t finish the game due to a knee injury.

Tuesday 1 PM: It has now been confirmed on Tuesday by head coach Kevin Stefanski that Chubb is out for the remainder of the season.

Browns RB Nick Chubb Injures Knee, Could Miss 2023

The impact on Chubb’s knee occurred early in the second quarter as Cleveland drove down the field and into Pittsburgh’s red zone. He was tackled by the Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick around the three-yard line. As a result of the injury the superstar running back had to be carted off the field and sent to a nearby hospital.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski didn’t mince words when asked about the severity of Chubb’s health after the game. He described the injury as “significant” and responded with “I do” when pressed to divulge if he thought his leading rusher could miss the rest of the season.

Chubb’s absence will be a major blow to a Browns club hoping to rewrite its history. QB Deshaun Watson’s tenure in Cleveland has gotten off to a tepid start. A strong running game would smoothen the process of rejiggering the attack.

Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. are the next two men up in the Browns’ running back committee.

The Browns (1-1) host the Tennessee Titans (1-1) in Week 3.
