Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Surprisingly, the Chiefs and Cowboys have only met three times since the turn of the century, with the Cowboys holding a slim 2-1 edge. The last time these two teams met on the field was September of 2013. Since that time, both rosters have completely turned over. The Chiefs are 9-1 ATS in their last ten road games, while the Cowboys are 0-5 ATS in their last five games when facing a team with a winning road record.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are breathing fresh air once again after stopping a mild two game losing streak with a 29-19 win over the Denver Broncos. This season has been good for the Chiefs, a 6-2 record (6-2 ATS) and currently holding a three game lead in the AFC West division. In fact, it’s hard to believe, but the Chiefs are the only team in the division over the .500 mark.

The offence will be front and center led by quarterback Alex Smith. If the NFL handed out a MVP trophy after eight weeks of the season, he would be a top three candidate. He’s top five in passing yards, competitions, touchdown passes, QB ratings, and his team is second in total offence, only behind the New England Patriots.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys enter this game with a 4-3 record (4-3 ATS), riding a two game winning streak with victories against the 49ers, and Redskins. This game marks the start of four out of five games at home in the month of November where the Cowboys, surprisingly are 1-2 on home field this season.

The big news that concerns the Cowboys is off the field, where a federal judged cleared the way earlier this week for the NFL to enforce a six-game suspension to Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott. If the suspension holds this time, Elliott will miss Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. He will be eligible to return Dec. 17 at Oakland.
