Buffalo Bills NFL Prediction: 2019 Season Betting Odds and Preview
It’s the fifth season under the ownership of the Pegulas, and the third year that they’ve been managed and coached by Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott. With some big offseason moves in free agency, and a stellar draft, Buffalo will try to improve on their 6-10 record from 2018.
The Bills’ 2017 season had laid the groundwork for more winning ways in Buffalo, when the team finished 9-7 and went to the playoffs for the first time since 1999. Unfortunately, 2018 was not a step in the right direction for the Bills. They lost quite a few key players to trades and retirement, and were unable to secure a berth in the postseason, going 6-10 on the season and eliminated from playoff contention in Week 14 against the Jets.
Buffalo Bills Acquisitions and Moves
Going into this year’s draft, the Bills were in desperate need of support for their still-fresh quarterback, Josh Allen. To say they had a decent 2019 draft would be a huge understatement. They wanted DT Ed Oliver badly and were willing to make trades to get him, but ended up getting him without having to move up the line. Oliver is one of the top prospects in his class. Next, they picked up Cody Ford with the 38th selection, even though Ford was expected to be a top 15 pick. Their next pick was the 74th overall, and with it they picked up Devin Singletary, a running back out of Florida that has real potential to step in as the starter when LeSean McCoy retires.
All told, the Bills had one of the best drafts in their recent history.
The team added some offensive weapons in free agency, with the additions of Quinton Spain, Ty Nsekhe, Mitch Morse, Spencer Long and LaAdrian Waddle.
Wide receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley were signed and the Bills got tight ends Tyler Kroft and Lee Smith. Veteran Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon will bring more depth to the team’s RB bench. Andre Roberts was another excellent acquisition and CBs E.J. Gaines and Kevin Johnson will bolster the secondary.

Buffalo Bills NFL Betting Odds
As of this writing, the Bills are long shots to even make the playoffs at +375. A $20 bet on Buffalo to make it to the postseason will earn bettors $95 if they pull it off. Sports Interaction oddsmakers have the Bills NOT making the playoffs set at -667, as most expect the Bills to be a few years away from contender status.
The Bills are huge underdogs when it comes to winning the Super Bowl in 2020. They are currently priced at +6600, or 66/1. If they somehow managed to do it (nothing is impossible) your modest $20 bet would have a sizeable $1340 payout.
Buffalo Bills 2019 Season Prediction
Despite a large new cast of characters that have been brought in to help Josh Allen out, don’t expect the Bills to make much of an huge improvement on their 2018 record. A generous prediction based on their somewhat easy schedule could give them an 8-8 season.
