Bills vs. Patriots Point Spread: NFL Week 16 Odds, Prediction
Emotions ran high last time these two teams met back on December 3. The Patriots knocked off the Bills 23-3 in that game, but the big news was the one game suspension to tight end Rob Gronkowski for his late hit on Tre’Davious White. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of start the Bills get in this game, with their playoff lives on the line.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
These two teams are no strangers to one another as AFC East division rivals. New England holds the all-time edge in head to head match-ups with a record of 71-43-1. More recently, they have won four of the last five meetings against the Bills. However, since the 2013 season, the Bills are 2-2 at Gillette Stadium. Something to think about, the Bills are 1-3-1 in their last five meetings with the Patriots, but the road team in this head to head series is a remarkable 19-7-1 ATS in the last 27 games.
Buffalo Bills
Winners of two straight games and with an 8-6 record (8-5-1 ATS); if the playoffs were to start today, the Bills would be in. But to win in New England will be their toughest task of the season. Tyrod Taylor will start at quarterback for the Bills, he has passed for 2314 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He leads a Bills offence that is ranked 29th in total offence (300.3) this season. The focus of the offence will be on feature running back LeSean McCoy who has rushed for 1057 (ranked fifth in the NFL) this season, and more recently 206 yards in the last two games (both wins).
New England Patriots
Last Sunday in their biggest test of the season, the Patriots leave Heinz Field in Pittsburgh with a huge 27-24 victory. To assure themselves a number one seed in the AFC, they must win the remaining two games of the season, and it starts this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots enter this game with an 11-3 record (9-5 ATS). The key match-up in this game will be the Patriots number one ranked offence (397.6) against the Bills number 23 ranked defence (351.1), if the Bills don’t contain the opposition, it could get ugly, fast. At the age of 40, Tom Brady has put together another MVP type season throwing for over 4000 yards passing, with 28 touchdowns, and only 7 interceptions.
