The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to somehow shake off all of the distractions surrounding Hurricane Irma as they open their season against the Chicago Bears for a Week 2 showdown at Raymond James Stadium for a 1:00 pm Eastern kick-off. Let’s take a closer look at the game as well as Sports Interaction’s NFL regular season odds.

Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Point spread: Tampa Bay -7.0 Over/under: 43.0 Date: Sunday, September 17, 2017 @ 13:00 Location: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay.

Bears vs. Buccaneers Odds and Betting Analysis

This will be the 11th time since 2001 that the Bears and Buccaneers will meet with Chicago leading the series 7-4. Tampa Bay thrashed Chicago 36-10 in their most recent meeting in Week 10 of last season. The Bears were a putrid 1-6 ATS on the road last season, while the Bucs were just 2-6 ATS at home in 2016. The home team Buccaneers are set as 7.0-point favourites with the total currently sitting at 43.0.

Chicago Bears

The Bears have suffered significant injuries to the wide receiving corps early in 2017. Cameron Meredith, who led Chicago in receptions (66) and receiving yards (888) last year, suffered a devastating knee injury in the third preseason game. Kevin White’s season came to an end after suffering a broken shoulder blade in Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The No. 7 overall pick in 2015 was supposed to pick up the slack in Meredith’s absence. Bears’ OC Dowell Loggains will look to Kendall Wright and Markus Wheaton to fill the void at WR.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

All eyes will be on Bucs QB Jameis Winston who enters his 3rd season in the NFL as the only quarterback to have over 4000 yards passing in his first two seasons. Winston is also incredibly accurate while he’s under pressure. Last season, the Florida State product had the highest QBR under pressure of any quarterback season since 2006 according to ESPN’s database. Winston also got some nice new weapons in the offseason in the form of free agent WR DeSean Jackson and first round draft pick TE O.J. Howard.
