2025 NFL Futures: Bengals’ Super Bowl odds take a nosedive following Joe Burrow injury
Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is in the books, and it was another fabulous weekend of football.
We saw a number of great games, including the Eagles knocking off the Chiefs, the Buccaneers defeating the Texans in the final seconds and the Cowboys beating the Giants in overtime.
There were plenty of takeaways from Week 2 that had an impact on a number of NFL futures markets.
What happened to the Super Bowl oddsboard and who is in pole position in the player awards markets? Let’s get into it.

How did the Super Bowl odds change?
- Buffalo Bills (+500)
- Baltimore Ravens (+550)
- Green Bay Packers (+650)
- Philadelphia Eagles (+700)
- Kansas City Chiefs (+1400)
- Detroit Lions (+1400)
- Los Angeles Chargers (+1600)
- Los Angeles Rams (+1800)
- San Francisco 49ers (+2200)
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2200)
- Denver Broncos (+2500)
- Washington Commanders (+2500)
- Minnesota Vikings (+5000)
- Arizona Cardinals (+5000)
Given that it’s only Week 2, there weren’t that many changes following Sunday and Monday’s results. The Bills continue to sit atop the Super Bowl odds following their dominant win over the Jets, while the Chiefs’ odds have taken a noticeable hit after losing to the Eagles.
The biggest mover is the Chargers, as Los Angeles is now 2-0 and has looked very good in each of its wins over the Chiefs and Raiders. Are the Chargers a serious contender? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals have tumbled from being +2000 all the way out to +7500 following the news that Joe Burrow will be out for at least three months following a toe injury.
How did the player awards odds change?
The most notable race in the player awards market that was impacted by a Week 2 result was in the MVP market, as Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are now co-favourites following a terrific performance from Jackson against the Browns, which vaulted him up to +325 after being priced at +550 last week.
Justin Herbert is certainly a dark horse candidate to win the award, and he’s now up to +800 in the MVP odds market following another strong performance in primetime against the Raiders.
Elsewhere, Saquon Barkley is the new favourite for Offensive Player of the Year, while Micah Parsons is still the Defensive Player of the Year favourite at +450 odds. The new Coach of the Year favourite is Colts head coach Shane Steichen at +625 odds.
Best NFL futures bet to lock in right now: Green Bay Packers to win NFC Championship (+325)
Last week, I gave out the Ravens to win the AFC North following their Week 1 defeat, and that wager is already paying dividends, as Baltimore is now -400 in that same market following its win over Cleveland and Burrow’s injury status for Cincinnati. This week, I’ll target the Green Bay Packers to win the NFC and advance to the Super Bowl for the first time in 15 years.
I was already looking to back the Packers heading into the season, and Green Bay certainly looks like the most complete team in football through two weeks. The Packers offence is humming with Jordan Love playing his best football, and Micah Parsons has clearly been a massive difference maker for a defence that desperately needed a disruptor. That gives me a lot of confidence in Green Bay’s ability to beat the best teams in the playoffs.
Finally, the Packers have a very favourable schedule coming up, as Green Bay should be clear favourites in each of its next six games. It wouldn’t shock me at all if the Packers got out to an 8-0 or 7-1 start heading into a massive game against the Eagles at Lambeau Field.
