2015 Super Bowl XLIX Odds, Bets, Prediction: Patriots vs. Seahawks
What are the odds
Trying to pin down a pointspread for Super Bowl XLIX has proven about as difficult as getting a useful quote out of Marshawn Lynch.
The New England Patriots opened as a Pick ‘em against the Seattle Seahawks at Sports Interaction, but after a steady stream of Patriots action, New England moved up to 1.5-point favorite. At that point, approximately 70 percent of Sports Interaction’s handle was on the Patriots.
“We had New England at -1 or -1.5 since the middle of last week but saw some buy-back on the Seahawks that forced our hand,” a Sports Interaction oddsmaker said Thursday.

“We took two limit wagers on the Seahawks to win outright when the Pats were still -1.5,” he added. “One bet had Seattle moneyline at +100 and the other was Seattle -105, so at that point, we had to make the move back to the pick ‘em. Now we’re serving New England -120 and while we’re still heavy in Pats money, we expect more Seattle cash is coming.”
That said, it hasn’t come in waves yet. Friday morning, Sports Interaction moved the Patriots back to 1-point favorites thanks to consistent New England action. That’s where the line currently sits.
Prop bets
Not surprisingly, the most popular prop bets among gamblers focus on pop sensation Katy Perry and on Deflate Gate, the hot-button issue leading up to the game.
Right now Perry is set at +465 to kiss a girl onstage with other betting options available on her wardrobe, setlist and possible guest appearances.
Sports Interaction is also offering prop odds for whether Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will kiss his girlfriend on the field (Yes -120), whether the Seahawks will inspect footballs before the game (Yes +1000) and whether Lenny Kravitz will wear a scarf while performing (Yes -125).
Puppy Bowl XI
As a Super Bowl appetizer, Animal Planet has Puppy Bowl XI kicking off at 3 p.m. ET. Right now Team Ruff is a 3-point favorite and a -133 favorite to have the game’s MVP on its roster.

Super Bowl XLIX preview
If this was a three-game series, your better bet would be the defending champion Seattle Seahawks. They still have the nastiest defence we’ve seen in years, a running game that can control the clock, and a quarterback with enough skill and smarts to move the chains responsibly. But in a one-game, winner-take-all, the New England Patriots are awfully tricky.
Bill Belichick will have a few things up his sleeve for the Seahawks and Tom Brady will keep the Pats in this game. My gut says the Pats get it done.
