In the Pac-12 corner stand the Washington Huskies, with dominant running back Chris Polk ready to ram the ball wherever he sees fit. In the Big 12 corner is a little university from Waco called Baylor, home to 2011 Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. This game is going to have touchdowns, lots of touchdowns.

Jake who?
Washington’s offense was better known as Handsome Jake Locker +10 last season but the arrival of Keith Price has brought this unit forward. For all of Locker’s physical tools, his poor pass-completion rate left the Huskies unbalanced. Price has proven a far more consistent commodity. With the first-year starter completing 67.4 percent of his passes, Steve Sarkisian’s Huskies have proven far more threatening when in possession. With Chris Polk having another huge year, the Huskies recorded their first 7 win regular season since 2002. Polk is expected to declare for the NFL draft and knows a strong showing here could do wonders for his stock in a crowded field of running backs.

RG3’s final statement
Having won the Heisman and brought Baylor back to relevancy, there is nothing left for Robert Griffin III to achieve at this level. College Football betting fans have marvelled at his tremendous stats. In his junior season alone RG3 completed 72.4 percent of his passes at an average of 10.4 yards per attempt. His speed and athleticism would make NFL scouts salivate without the gaudy numbers but the downfield accuracy of RG3 makes him a certain top five pick in April.

Unseating Andrew Luck at the top of the draft will be difficult but it wouldn’t hurt it he could top Luck’s display against the Huskies. In October Luck completed 16 of 21 passes for 2 touchdowns and no picks. RG3 might pull that off in the first quarter.

The verdict
Polk should have a big day against Baylor’s leaky defense but unless the Huskies become LSU overnight this game will be all about RG3. Just look at the fundamentals. It’s a superstar quarterback with phenomenal stats playing, one would assume, for the last time in front of a de facto home crowd. The Heisman Trophy winner has shown he can get it done against all kinds of coverage and I expect a pass-happy day for the Bears. RG3 has the tools to deliver one last memorable day for the Baylor faithful. I like the Bears to win the Alamo Bowl.
