Saint Peters vs. Purdue Bracket Prediction: March Madness Odds
Saint Peter’s has convincing victories over No. 2 Kentucky and No. 7 Murray State thus far, shocking the entire country in the opening weekend. Purdue’s comfortably found themselves in this position, posting double-digit victories over No. 14 Yale and No. 6 Texas last weekend.
Tip-off at Wells Fargo Center is 7:09 p.m. EDT, with Purdue a huge favourite at -12.5 on the spread and the over-under pegged at 135 on the NCAAB odds.
Saint Peter’s vs. Purdue Sweet 16 Point Spread and Betting
Saint Peter’s is both winning and covering at a perfect rate —they’re 9-0 both straight up and against the spread in their last nine appearances. Ironically, Purdue’s on the opposite end ATS with covers in two of their last nine but both coming in their tournament games.
The under is also 9-3 in Purdue’s last 12 games, but Saint Peter’s is getting it done as an underdog by engaging in offensive shootouts as the over is 7-1 in their last eight as an underdog and they’re 5-0 ATS in neutral site games too. Both of Saint Peter’s tournament games have gone over.
Saint Peter’s Peacocks (15)
From KC Ndefo to Doug Edert, the Peacocks are rolling and becoming household names in the process. Ndefo led Saint Peter’s against Murray State with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks while Edert again shined coming off the bench with 13 points on six shot attempts.
Leading scorer Daryl Banks III had an off night Saturday shooting one of seven from the court, which makes Ndefo’s and Edert’s performances all the more important. But keep an eye on Banks III Friday, as he went off for 27 against Kentucky and can knock down threes with ease. Banks has six on the tournament, and 126 in three seasons with the Peacocks.
Purdue Boilermakers (3)
Sophomore guard Jaden Ivey is projected as one of the NBA’s top draft picks this summer and his recent string of games is proving why. Ivey’s scored at least 17 points in five straight games while shooting 49 per cent from the field, all being Big Ten or March Madness tournament games. But in the Round of 32 it was the Trevion Williams show as the 6’10 senior tied a season high of 22 points off the bench on 10 of 13 shooting.
In the win against Texas 7’4 centre Zach Edey notched his third double-double in his last four outings. The Canadian big man has hit 15 free throws in the tournament too as fouling’s proven to be an unsuccessful strategy in stopping Edey.
