2026 March Madness Most Outstanding Player Betting Odds: Duke’s Cameron Boozer tops the board
The brackets are locked in and March Madness is officially underway for another year.
The lead up to March Madness had us dissecting teams and regions and now it’s time to narrow our focus to the individuals and who could win Most Outstanding Player.
Let’s get into it.
Most Outstanding Player Favourite: Cameron Boozer (+375)
Hakeem Olajuwon in 1983 was the last Most Outstanding Player winner who didn’t play on the championship team, so it’s no surprise that Duke’s Cameron Boozer is this year’s favourite as the Blue Devils are the top overall seed in the tournament.
Boozer is one of the highest scoring players in the nation, averaging 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, all team-highs. Of all the 1-seeds, Duke has arguably the hardest path in the East Region, but if they end up cutting down the nets at the end of the tournament, Boozer should be a lock for Most Outstanding Player.
Most Outstanding Player Value Pick: Yaxel Lendeborg (+1100)
That tougher path for Duke is why I have a player from another 1-seed circled as a solid value pick in Michigan’s Yaxel Lendeborg at +1100. Lendeborg is the Wolverines’ leading scorer, averaging 14.6 ppg, 7.0 rpg and a team-high 1.2 steals per game.
Michigan should steamroll through the Midwest Region, with Lendeborg instilling himself as the key piece of one of the highest scoring teams in the nation. It’s pretty simple when it comes to Most Outstanding Player, pick the team you think will win the tournament and take the best player. In Michigan’s case, that player is Lendeborg.
Last 10 Most Outstanding Players
If the chart above tells you anything, it’s that winning Most Outstanding Player at this tournament doesn’t guarantee you an NBA career. Three of the last 10 MOP winners were never drafted into the NBA and only two, Ochai Agbaji and Donte DiVincenzo, are currently everyday NBAers.
