When Will Victor Wembanyama Debut in the NBA’s Summer League?

Frenchman Victor Wambanyama, recently selected first overall in the NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs, is expected to play very soon in summer league action.

Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs Debut

Calling this Wembanyama’s debut is a bit of a misnomer. The real hype will be when he adorns a Spurs jersey this October for the start of the regular season. All the same, considering the intrigue and excitement surrounding the French native, even a summer league game is causing a bit of stir.

The NBA’s summer leagues operate as a trifecta of sorts of three mini tournaments. There is the California Classic in Sacramento, the Salt Lake City league, and NBA 2K4 league in Las Vegas.

While the Spurs already played a game with the Charlotte Hornets in Sacramento, they’ll be traveling to Las Vegas for their next games. In fact, they’ll play the Hornets yet again on Friday night. There is a good chance that’s when Wembanyama will hit the hardwood floor for the first time with his new team.

San Antonio plays again on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
