Golden State Warriors vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds
The Toronto Raptors look to snap a five-game losing streak on home court when they return to Scotiabank Arena on Sunday afternoon to take on the Golden State Warriors in NBA betting action.
The Raptors wrapped up a three-game road trip with a disappointing 138-117 loss in Washington on Friday night and have now fallen to defeat in nine of their past 13 overall, but have still manage to remain on control of fourth place on the Eastern Conference standings.
The Warriors arrive in Toronto after sweeping a three-game homevstand capped by a 126-116 Christmas Day win over Dallas but have claimed victory in just two of seven road contests.
Golden State opened as a 4.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds.
Warriors vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
The Raptors have lost in six of 10 overall meetings with Golden State but have earned the win in three of five head-to-head clashes at Scotiabank Arena, capped by a 104-101 win back in January. Toronto has also covered in three of four dates with the Dubs and have seen the total go OVER in six of their past eight matchups.
However, points have come at a premium for the Raptors during their current 4-9 run, with the club averaging just 105.3 points and failing to reach 100 points on five occasions. That has helped fuel a steady 12-4 run run for the UNDER, which has also paid out in six of their past seven. Toronto has also seen three of its past four home losses come by double-digit margins.
The Raptors have been steady producers on offence, averaging 121.7 points per game during their current 3-0 run, and have tallied at least 120 points in five of their past six outings. However, the UNDER has paid out in just five of their past 12 and the Warriors have gone just 6-10 ATS in their past 16 overall.
Golden State Warriors
Stephen Curry led the attack against the Mavericks in a Christmas Day win that featured contributions from up and down the roster. Curry dropped 23 points, continuing a productive December in which he has averaged 29.3 points in six appearances.
The future Hall-of-Famer was one of seven GSW shooters to reach double digits including Jimmy Butler, who has averaged 22.8 points over his past four games and De’Anthony Melton, who tallied a season-high 16 points but who has been ruled out of Sunday afternoon’s contest with a knee injury. Veteran Al Horford added 14 points while reaching double digits for just the third time in 14 outings this season.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors kept things close through most of Friday’s date with the Wizards, even taking the lead briefly before the half, but quickly faded during Washington’s 23-6 run to start the final frame to further sink the hopes raised during the club’s fast start the season.
One again, Brandon Ingram led the attack with a team-high 29 points on 10-for-20 shooting and has now recorded 25.3 points per game over the past eight contests. Immanuel Quickley equaled a season-high with the 25 points while going a perfect 9-for-9 on free throws and hitting four threes and has now averaged 20 points in his past four games.
Sandro Mamukelashvili tallied 13 points and 11 boards while stepping in for injured big man Jakob Poeltl. However it proved to be a tough night for Scottie Barnes, who remains hampered by a hip injury that forced him to briefly leave Friday’s contest.
