Fresh off officially becoming the greatest 3-point shooter in NBA history, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors will continue their East Coast swing when they travel to Boston to face the Celtics Friday night.  Curry broke the all-time 3-point record in Golden State’s 105-96 win in New York on Tuesday, while the Celtics have been off since a 117-103 home win against Milwaukee on Monday.

The Warriors are 3-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 214.5.

Warriors vs. Celtics NBA Betting Odds

It’s been all Boston in this series over the last couple of years as the Celtics have won the last five head-to-heads.  Strong defence has been a staple of the all-time series, with the total going Under in nine of the last 10 games between these teams.  Sports Interaction bettors seem to think G-State is due in this one.  About 82 per cent of action is taking the Warriors, while the Over is favoured by more than 90 per cent of bettors.

Golden State has feasted on Eastern Conference opponents lately, winning eight of their last nine games against the East.  For the season they’re 18-9-1 against the spread overall, but they’ve failed to cover in four of their last five games against Boston.  The total has gone Under in five straight road games for the Warriors and nine of their last 11 games overall.

The Celtics have been great at TD Garden lately, winning seven of their last eight home games.  They’re an even 14-14 ATS overall this season, including 5-6 ATS at home.  The total has gone Under in six of Boston’s last nine games.

Golden State Warriors

It’s official, Curry is the greatest 3-point shooter in NBA history after breaking Ray Allen’s all-time career record of 2,973 in a 22-point performance against the Knicks on Tuesday.  Curry has a career 3-point average average of 5.4 per game and leads the NBA with 145 threes this season.  No other player had cracked 100 entering play Tuesday.  Barring a serious injury, at some point this season Curry will become the first NBA player to ever hit 3,000 career threes and he has a legitimate shot at reaching 4,000 by the time his career ends.

But, it’s back to business for Curry and the Warriors.  Golden State’s defensive effort was overshadowed by the Curry record.  The Warriors held New York to 36 per cent shooting and improved their record to an NBA-best 23-5.  Jordan Poole had a solid night, finishing with 19 points and nine rebounds.  Canadian Andrew Wiggins also continues to play strong as he put up 18 points and six rebounds.  Wiggins is averaging 18.4 points per game this season, second on the Warriors to Curry’s 26.9 ppg.

Boston Celtics

Boston’s upset win over the defending champion Bucks on Monday shows just how important it is for this team to have both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in the lineup together.  Tatum had a monster 42-point performance, with 16 of those coming in the fourth quarter.  Tatum is averaging a team-high 26.2 points per game and 8.6 rebounds.  Brown had 19 points and played 30 minutes in his return to the lineup after missing the previous five games with a hamstring injury.  It was a much needed win after the Celtics went 1-4 without Brown on their West Coast road trip.  Brown is Boston’s second-leading scorer, averaging 21.2 ppg.
