Portland Trail Blazers vs. Toronto Raptors Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
Toronto tries to contain All-Star point guard Damian Lillard and professional bucket-getter CJ McCollum when the Blazers come to town.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Raptors lost a heartbreaker on Thursday night at Washington to the John Wall-less Wizards and fell to 34-16 straight up and 26-24 against the spread. Toronto is just 5-5 SU over its last 10 games and 2-7 ATS in its last nine contests.
The Wiz scored 67 points in the second half on their way to 122 total points in the game. It marked just the fifth time the Dinos have given up 120 or more points in a game this season. The game went easily over the 214.5-point total but the under is 5-3 in Toronto’s last eight matchups.
The Raps are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and the same mark in the last five times they’ve played on the second night of a back-to-back set.
Portland is one of the hottest teams in the Association with seven wins in its last eight games and a 6-0-1 ATS mark in its last seven contests. The Blazers blew the doors off the Bulls on Wednesday night and improved to 29-22 SU and 25-21-5 ATS on the campaign.
Portland Trail Blazers
McCollum was unconscious against Chicago making 18 of his 25 shot attempts on his way to a 50-point night in just three quarters of work. He became only the second player in the NBA’s shot clock era to score 50 or more points in a game in fewer than 30 minutes of action.
Of course, he’s not the only Blazer the Raptors have to worry about. Lillard leads the team in scoring at 25.2 points per game and assists with 6.5 per night.
Toronto Raptors
Kyle Lowry missed two key free throws late in the fourth quarter against the Wizards including one that would have tied the game with 4.4 seconds left. Lowry told reporters after the game he wasn’t clutch enough despite leading the Raptors in scoring on the night.
Another player the Raptors would love to see a little more in late-game situations: Serge Ibaka. The big man missed a pivotal, open 3-pointer from the corner and has made just two of his 16 attempts from beyond the arc in fourth quarters this season.
