What are the odds the Golden State Warriors will break the NBA record for most wins in a season?

The Golden State Warriors still have a chance at breaking the Chicago Bulls’ regular season record of 72 wins, but they don’t have any wiggle room anymore.

After losing twice in the last five days, the Warriors are 69-9 on the year and need to win the remaining four games on their regular season schedule to break Chicago’s record. Golden State is also 42-34 against the spread this season.

NBA Regular Season Record Odds

Still, NBA odds have the Warriors at +225 to break the record and at -333 to fall short of the Bulls’ mark.

APRIL 7 UPDATE: Warriors now +187 to break record, -278 to fall short.

Warriors record odds

“You have so much media attention and everybody talking about breaking the record and you lose focus a little bit,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters after being a member of the Bulls team that set the record in 1996. “The same thing happened 20 years ago. We didn’t play well down the stretch. This doesn’t surprise me. It’s easy to get lost in all this stuff. We haven’t been very dialed in of late.”

The road to making history doesn’t look like it’s without some speed bumps either.

Golden State has a pair of dates left against the top two teams in the Southwest, San Antonio and Memphis. The Warriors host the Spurs on Thursday night, visit the Grizzlies Saturday and the Spurs Sunday before finishing off the regular season Wednesday March 17 in Memphis. The Spurs beat Golden State last month and while the Warriors have won both of their matchups with Memphis, the last time they faced the Grizzlies was back in November.

Golden State Warriors Chase NBA Record

“We put ourselves in a position where it’s a realistic goal,” Steph Curry told reporters. “We have to embrace the challenge. Obviously it’s not easy to get it done. We’re proving that right now.”

Regardless of the record, the Warriors remain the favourites to win their second consecutive NBA title. Bet daily NBA odds right here.
