LeBron James, Stephen Curry Eye 2024 Paris Olympics
As ESPN senior writer Brian Windhorst wrote on Monday morning, several key American NBA stars have expressed interest in playing for the Stars and Stripes next summer in Paris for the Summer Olympics. LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Chris Paul are just some of the names reportedly interested in competing for gold.

Stephen Curry, LeBron James Considering 2024 Olympics
Even though nothing is set in stone with so many months to go until the Games, the timing with which some media outlets are publishing this preliminary information is noteworthy. On Sunday the United States fell to fourth place in the FIBA World Cup by losing to Canada in the bronze medal game, 1127-118 in overtime.
Almost irrespective of sport, the U.S. is not accustomed to losing and fourth place surely feels very foreign. To be fair, the team Steve Kerr coached was not filled with undisputed superstars, but it was a very good team that fell very short.
As such, the drum roll has begun for which NBA stars could represent the flag at a tournament most take more seriously, the Summer Olympics.
Other than the aforementioned names, other potential candidates include Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, and Draymond Green.
In fact, Joel Embiid, who recently earned U.S. citizenship, is said to have been courted.
There’s a lot of time until the official team roster is finalized. That probably won’t happen until late spring 2024 at the earliest. Nevertheless, hearing names like those makes one consider what the next Dream Team might resemble.
