The Suns opened their current two-game home stand with Saturday’s decisive 113-103 win over Indiana, but have maintained a middling 3-3 straight up record on home court since Christmas Day. The Jazz are coming off a heartbreaking 94-92 road loss to Golden State that dumps them to 2-7 in their past nine contests.

Phoenix is a 9-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 221.5.

Jazz vs. Suns NBA Betting Odds

The Suns briefly improved to 10-point favourites, but with the support of just 36 per cent of sports bettors, they have since fallen back to their opening position at -9. The total has dipped slightly from 222.0 to 221.5, despite heavy support for the OVER, which is backed by 85 per cent of the action.

Monday night’s matchup at Footprint Center opens a home-and-home series between these clubs, with the back half scheduled for Wednesday night at Vivint Arena. The Suns swept the three-game season series with Utah last season, capped by a dominating 121-100 win as 3.5-point home chalk on April 30. Overall, Phoenix has won four straight head-to-head and covered the spread in five straight. However, they have failed to cover in five dates with Utah while favoured by eight or more points, including outright losses in their past two as big home chalk. The OVER currently enjoys a 3-1 run despite shaky production by the Jazz, who have mustered 100 or fewer points in three straight against Phoenix.

The Suns have overcome a Christmas slump by going 9-1 since New Year’s Day. Phoenix has claimed victory by an average margin of 16.1 points in those wins, while going 7-3 against the spread. However, they have covered in just two of seven home dates, and in just four of nine this season while favoured at home by at least eight points. In addition to scoring 95 or fewer points in three of six, Utah has allowed 122 or more points on three occasions during a 1-5 run on the road.

Utah Jazz

The Jazz arrive in Phoenix facing injury woes after both Bojan Bogdanovic and Rudy Gobert were forced to leave Sunday’s loss to the Warriors with a knee injury and a calf strain, respectively. That adds to an injury list that already features Hassan Whiteside and Donovan Mitchell. The absence of Bogdanovic and Gobert is a particularly huge blow. Bogdanovic has led the team in scoring twice while averaging 24.3 points over his past three outings, and Gobert has tallied an average of 18 points and 16 rebounds per game so far in 2022.

Phoenix Suns

The Suns are dealing with some injury woes of their own, with their most notable wounded including veteran big man Deandre Ayton and point guard Cameron Payne. However, the duo of Mikal Bridges and Devin Booker has continued to carry the attack. Bridges equalled a season-high with 23 points in Saturday’s win over the Pacers, and Booker has averaged 30.4 points and five rebounds over his past five outings.
