Two of the hottest teams to start the NBA season are set to meet Saturday night in Miami as the Heat host the Utah Jazz.  Miami sits second in the Eastern Conference with a 6-2 record and they’re looking for a bounce-back performance after falling 95-78 against Boston on Thursday.  Utah’s 7-1 record has them sitting atop the Western Conference as they look to extend their three-game winning streak.

The Heat are 2.5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 211.5.

Jazz vs. Heat NBA Betting Odds

These teams split their two-game season series last year, with the home team winning each encounter.  The Over/Under split evenly last season and across their last 10 meetings.

The Jazz have been a solid 4-1 outside of Utah this year, but it’s worth noting they’ve lost five of their last six games in Miami.  Utah is 6-2 against the spread, covering in four of five on the road.  The total has gone Under in six of the Jazz’s eight games, including all five road contests.

Miami’s consistent play has seen them go 3-1 both at home and on the road.  They’re 6-2 ATS, covering in three of four home games.  The total has gone Under in five of their eight games, including three times at home.

Utah Jazz

It’s no secret as to why the Jazz have the best record in the NBA.  Utah is the third-highest scoring team in the league and they boast five players who average above 15 points per game.  The team is averaging 112.8 ppg and they’re shooting 42.2 per cent from 3-point range, second-best in the NBA.  Donovan Mitchell averages a team-high 24.9 ppg and 4.9 assists.  Rudy Gobert, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, averages a league-high 17.2 rebounds per game and leads the team with 1.8 blocks a night.  Keep an eye on Mitchell’s status for this game.  He missed Utah’s 116-98 win over Atlanta on Thursday with a sprained ankle and as of Saturday morning there has been no update on his availability against Miami.

Miami Heat

The Heat’s stumble against Boston last time out broke a five-game winning streak that saw Miami win by at least 13 points in each contest.  The Boston loss can pretty much be solely blamed on a brutal second quarter that saw the Heat outscored 33-9.  Miami shot 34.6 per cent from the field and just 22 per cent from three in the loss.  Jimmy Butler still managed to finish with a game-high 20 points.  Butler leads the team with 24.4 ppg and 2.6 steals.  Miami is averaging 110.9 ppg, eighth-most in the NBA.  Former Toronto Raptor Kyle Lowry, who is averaging 10.0 ppg and a team-high 7.1 assists, is questionable to play as he deals with a sprained ankle.
