Ahead of Thursday night’s Game 5 clash with the Celtics, the Miami Heat announced that Gabe Vincent will miss the match due to injury.
The Miami Heat have made a habit of winning in the playoffs this spring despite the odds. They haven’t had Victor Oladipo or Tyler Herro at all during their phenomenal run to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Unfortunately, they received additional, bad health-related news, at least temporarily. Gabe Vincent will not suit up in Boston for Game 5.

Heat’s Gabe Vincent Ankle Sprain
The official Miami Heat Twitter account made it public on Thursday morning that guard Gabe Vincent will miss Game 5 against the Boston Celtics.
His absence is due to a left ankle sprain.
At one point one begins to wonder when the injury bug will be too much for the club to handle. So far they’ve fought against the odds in the play-in tournament, the first round versus the Milwaukee Bucks, the second round against the New York Knicks, and so far in the conference final. They lead the series 3-1 and have already won twice at TD Garden.
Vincent has averaged 13.1 points per game this postseason and was magnificent in Game 3, tallying 29 points in large part thanks to sensational 6-for-9 shooting from beyond the arc. The Heat won that contest 128-102, giving them a 3-0 series advantage at the time.
It’s no secret that with Jimmy Butler leading the charge anything it possible. Few would be surprised if Miami puts Boston out of its misery in Game 5, but this injury does put a wrinkle in the Heat’s plans.
