The routs are starting to pile up for the increasingly healthy Toronto Raptors, who look to run their winning streak to five as they entertain the Miami Heat in a Sunday night encounter. Toronto comes in having reeled off three double-digit victories over the course of their latest win streak to remain atop the NBA standings at 16-4. The Heat are headed in the opposite direction, having dropped six of eight after getting off to a decent start to the season.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Toronto is favoured to win yet again by double digits, and have covered each of their past two games when giving 10 or more points after going just 1-5-1 ATS in their previous seven games in that situation. The Heat are coming off a seven-point win over the host Chicago Bulls as a 3 ½-point fave but are a dismal 2-9-1 ATS in their past 12 games following a successful cover last time out. Miami has, however, covered each of its past four meetings with Toronto.

The total for this one is set a 218.5 – and the Raptors are a good bet to convert the over, having done so in 13 of their previous 16 games at Scotiabank Arena. It’s one of a handful of over trends Toronto brings into this one, having gone 11-3 ATS in their previous 14 vs. Eastern Conference foes. Miami, on the other hand, has racked up four consecutive unders and is 5-2 to the over in its past seven against teams above the .500 mark.

Miami Heat

After grinding out a .500 record over its first 10 games, things have gone off the rails for the Heat over their past eight contests. Offence has been a significant problem for Miami of late, with the club having exceeded 100 points just once in its previous four games. That includes a dismal 97-point showing against a visiting Los Angeles Lakers team boasting one of the most porous defences in the league. Miami is 2-8 ATS in its past 10 following a straight-up win.

Toronto Raptors

With the Raptors having enjoyed a day off following Friday’s 125-107 victory over the visiting  Washington Wizards, there’s a good chance they’ll have Kawhi Leonard in the lineup for Sunday’s encounter. While Leonard generally doesn’t play on back-to-back nights, he has been absolute fire when in the lineup, averaging 24.4 points and 8.4 rebounds while posting a 24.11 Player Efficiency Rating – ranking him in the top 20 league-wide.
