The 26-year-old Blanchfield, who fights out of New Jersey, is 13-2 in her MMA career, ranked No. 4 in the women’s flyweight division and No. 6 on the pound-for-pound female rankings. Valentina Shevchenko tops both rankings. Blanchfield has not faced her yet. She was originally scheduled to meet Maycee Barber at UFC 269 in December 2021, but Barber withdrew due to undisclosed reasons.
Blanchfield’s only loss since joining the UFC was in March 2024 by unanimous decision against Manon Fiorot, but “Cold Blooded” bounced back with a unanimous decision win over former two-time UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas last November in Edmonton. It was easily Blanchfield’s biggest career win to date.
But Barber wasn’t impressed, saying recently: “I think Erin Blanchfield was gifted a win over Thug Rose. She was totally beaten in the striking. I think Rose won the fight. The UFC knows Rose is on her way out. So, what good would it do to give her the win? Erin’s younger, she’s marketable, so they gave her the decision.”
The 5-foot-4 Blanchfield has a reach of 66 inches and her bouts average 14:07. She lands 5.24 significant strikes per minute with 44 per cent accuracy and absorbs 4.21 with 59 per cent defence. Her takedown average is 1.86 per 15 minutes with 31 per cent accuracy, and her takedown defence is 80 per cent. Blanchfield’s seven takedowns landed at UFC 269 in a win over Miranda Maverick in 2021 are tied for the single-fight record for a UFC women’s flyweight bout.
Both of Blanchfield’s career losses are via the judges, while she has seven wins by decision, four by submission and two by KO/TKO – her three total stoppage victories in UFC women’s flyweight competition are tied for fourth-most in divisional history. Blanchfield’s favoured method of victory Saturday is by decision at -115, followed by submission at +325 and KO/TKO/DQ at +1200. That she wins in Round 1 is +1200 and a draw is +5000.

The 27-year-old Barber, who fights out of Colorado, is 14-2 in her MMA career and ranked No. 5 in the women’s flyweight division. Both losses came in the UFC and back-to-back: To Roxanne Modafferi via unanimous decision in January 2020 and then to former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso by unanimous decision in February 2021.
Barber has won six straight since, the second-longest active streak in the division behind top-ranked contender Natalia Silva’s seven in a row. “The Future” was last in the Octagon in March 2024 and beat Katlyn Cerminara by unanimous decision for the biggest win yet of Barber’s career.
She was supposed to fight former champion Rose Namajunas in July 2024 but had to withdrew for health reasons. Barber later said it was due to Epstein-Barr virus, which left her severely physically compromised and unable to train to full capacity.
The 5-foot-5 Barber has a reach of 65 inches and her fights average 12:10. She lands 4.70 significant strikes per minute with 53 per cent defence and absorbs 2.90 with 54 per cent defence. Her takedown average is 1.44 per 15 minutes with 43 per cent accuracy, and her takedown defence is 53 per cent.
Six of her wins are by decision, six by KO/TKO and two by submission. Her favoured method Saturday is by decision at +450, followed by KO/TKO/DQ at +500 and submission at +2000.
