UFC Fight Night 262 Preview and Predictions: Can Mike Malott keep rolling in front of a home crowd?
The UFC is set for another event this weekend, that being UFC Fight Night 262. This event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18 and will be held at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.
UFC Fight Night 262 will feature a total of 13 fights, seven on the preliminary card and six on the main card.
My article will break down three of the fights on this card and will include my best bet for each one.
UFC Mike Malott vs. Kevin Holland best bet: Mike Malott to Win (-115)
My first best bet for UFC Fight Night 262 targets Mike Malott to beat Kevin Holland in the co-main event. Malott enters this fight with an MMA record of 12-2-1 and 6-1 in the UFC. He is known for being a balanced fighter, averaging 4.09 significant strikes and 2.08 takedowns every 15 minutes.
As for Holland, he enters this fight with an MMA record of 28-14 and 16-11 in the UFC. Holland employs less of a balanced style, as he is more focused on striking. He averages 4.30 significant strikes and 0.82 takedowns every 15 minutes.
As good as Holland has been throughout his career, he has become inconsistent recently. Holland is just 3-5 in his last eight UFC fights, while Malott is 6-1 in his seven UFC fights. Based on the form of both fighters, backing Mike Malott to win is my play.
UFC Aiemann Zahabi vs. Marlon Vera best bet: Aiemann Zahabi to Win (-135)
My second best bet for UFC Fight Night 262 focuses on backing Aiemann Zahabi to beat Marlon Vera on the main card. Zahabi enters this fight with an MMA record of 13-2 and 7-2 in the UFC. Throughout his career, Zahabi has focused on his striking, averaging 4.42 significant strikes per minute with a striking accuracy of 46 per cent.
As for Vera, he enters this fight with an MMA record of 23-10-1 and 15-9 in the UFC. Similar to Zahabi, Vera is also a striker, averaging 4.27 significant strikes per minute with a striking accuracy of 49 per cent.
Zahabi looks to be an up-and-coming fighter in the bantamweight division, as he has won his last six UFC fights in a row. Vera, on the other hand, has lost three of his four UFC fights. Based on this form, backing Zahabi to win is my best bet.
UFC Kyle Nelson vs. Matt Frevola best bet: Fight to End by KO/TKO (-165)
My final best bet for UFC Fight Night 262 is to back the main card fight between Kyle Nelson and Matt Frevola to end by KO/TKO.
In 10 career UFC fights, Nelson has seen five of his fights end by KO/TKO, which includes each of his last two fights. As for Frevola, he has seen each of his last six UFC fights end by KO/TKO.
Therefore, based on the fact that both Nelson and Frevola have been seeing their recent fights end by KO/TKO, backing this fight to end by KO/TKO is my best bet.
