San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers to play in Korea Next Year

Major League Baseball has been very keen on getting more fans interesting in the sport but its product specifically. If they play their cards right, America’s pastime could be the world’s pastime. The 2024 regular season will open with a pair of games between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers in South Korea on March 20 and 21.

Padres and Dodgers to Open 2024 MLB Season in Korea

The news that a pair of contests will be held in South Korea to open 2024 with a bang is exciting for fans over there, but also another step in Major League Baseball’s deliberate attempt to expand its product. Later in the calendar, on April 28 and 29, the Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros will go head to head in Mexico City. The latter passed the test of hosting games this past April when the Padres and Giants duked it out for a couple of matches.

England isn’t exactly known for loving baseball, yet London hosted a two-game set between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals earlier this year. One can argue that England is home to many American ex pats, but the idea of MLB game in London would have raised eyebrows just a few years ago. It would appear that London fared well, because the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets will be coming to town on June 8 and 9 in 2024.

Previous International games have been held in Sydney, Australia, Tokyo, and Puerto Rico
