Odds and Bets: Roughriders QB Trevor Harris a Game-Time Decision
Today`s Sports Betting Picks
New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
There`s nothing like kicking off the weekend with a series opener between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Boston took two of three from New York last week, but the Yanks send Domingo German to the hill tonight and he`s been very good to Bronx Bomber bettors lately. New York has won each of his last five starts and he`s a slight -103 underdog as he shares the mound with Tanner Houck. Plus, at 39-30, the Yankees have earned nearly seven units for bettors already this season.
MLB Betting Prediction: New York Yankees -103
Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Saskatchewan Roughriders: QB Trevor Harris Questionable
Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris didn`t practice Wednesday and is now a game-time decision for the team`s home opener tonight with a hip injury, while receiver Derel Walker (knee) and linebacker Derrick Moncrief (shoulder) have already been ruled out. Harris was injured in the final play of last week`s win over Edmonton. The veteran quarterback was 20-of-33 for 179 yards, a touchdown, and two picks. Backup Mason Fine will get the call if Harris is unable to suit up. Fine has thrown three touchdowns in 19 CFL games. Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers made a statement in the first half of last week`s season opener, jumping out to a 29-4 halftime lead over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. They were on cruise control from there and rolled to a 43-31 victory.
CFL Betting Prediction: Winnipeg Blue Bombers -3 (first half)
US Open at LACC: Mackenzie Hughes Climbs Leaderboard
Maybe Nick Taylor`s win on Canadian soil gave Mackenzie Hughes the boost he needed. Hughes, who has missed five of his last six cuts, including last week`s, put together a sparkling 3-under round yesterday at the US Open. That has the 32-year-old from Hamilton tied for seventh on the leaderboard heading into today`s second round. You have to like his chances to win this group, too. Hughes is at +142 alongside Taylor Moore (+141) and Ben Carr (+277). Hughes does have a win this season already with a pair of top 10 finishes and seven more in the top 25. So when he`s on, he`s on.
PGA Betting Prediction: Mackenzie Hughes to win his US Open second round group (+142)
