The 2023 MLB All-Star Game will be played at 8pm ET tonight at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. The American League side has won this exhibition nine times in a row, so find themselves coming into this one as slight favorites.

It’ll be the Yankee’s Garrit Cole on the mound for the AL, he’s played this game six times but this is his first All-Star start. For the National League, Zac Gallen from the Diamondbacks has gotten the call to start.

Is it Finally the National League’s Turn?

The starting lineup for the NL this year is, on paper, the better roster of position players. If there was ever a year for the National League to snap a nearly decade long losing streak – it’s this year. The American League side is missing some key players, including Mike Trout and Aaron Judge. Shohei Ohtani is listed to play, but has a blister.

The Low Scoring Trend Could Continue?

The last few years of the MLB All-Star game have not been particularly high-scoring events. Last year, the AL won the fame 4-3. They year before? 5-2. In 2019 (the game was COVID-cancelled in 2020) the American League won it 4-3. Fewer than 8 runs scored in 5 of the last 6 All-Star matchups makes this wager a clear one.
