For the first time, Toronto is favoured to win the World Series with Games 6 and 7 (if needed) played at the Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays enter Game 6 as -250 favourites to win the series, with L.A. sitting as a +200 underdog. It’s a far cry from Game 4 when Toronto was +375 and the Dodgers were -500.

Toronto’s current -250 price comes with an implied probability of 71.4 per cent, which is a massive leap from their 21.1 per cent probability to win the World Series ahead of Game 4.

Game 6 pitching matchup

The Game 6 pitching matchup will be a repeat of Game 2, with Kevin Gausman on the mound for the Jays and Yoshinobu Yamamoto starting for the Dodgers.

Gausman has been Toronto’s ace all season, going 2-2 in the playoffs with a 2.55 ERA over 24.2 innings while striking out 18.

Yamamoto has been terrifying for L.A. Through the playoffs, he’s 3-1 with a 1.57 ERA and 26 strikeouts over 28.2 innings pitched. Yamamoto’s four-hit performance in Game 2 made him the first pitcher since 2001 to throw back-to-back complete games in the playoffs.

World Series MVP

Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the new -200 favourite to win World Series MVP after his first inning home run in Game 5. Gurrero is hitting .415 in the playoffs with 15 RBIs and his eight home runs is a postseason franchise record.

Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani is Guerrero’s closest competition at +220 to win World Series MVP. Ohtani allowed four earned runs with one walk and six strikeouts in a 6-2 Game 4 loss. He has three home runs in the series, despite Toronto largely pitching around him.

No other player has odds shorter than 13-1 to win MVP.
