Los Angeles Dodgers 2026 Season Preview: Odds, Predictions and World Series Outlook
Despite being pushed to the brink in a seven-game series against Toronto last fall, Los Angeles once again proved it has the deepest roster in baseball.
Dodgers odds for the 2026 season reflect a team expected to dominate the National League and contend for a third straight championship. With stars like Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Blake Snell leading the way, the bar is set at another World Series run.
Let’s break down the Dodgers’ roster outlook, strengths and weaknesses, and betting predictions for the 2026 MLB season.
LA Dodgers Futures Odds for the 2026 MLB Season
Here are some betting markets for the Dodgers heading into the season.
To win the World Series +230
To win the National League +125
To win the NL West -650
To make the playoffs -5000
Shohei Ohtani to win NL MVP -125
Kyle Tucker to win NL MVP +3000
Yoshinobu Yamamoto to win the NL Cy Young Award +500
Blake Snell to win the NL Cy Young Award +1800
Los Angeles enters 2026 as a heavy favourite across nearly every market, including the NL West, where the gap between the Dodgers and the rest of the division remains significant.
Los Angeles Dodgers Key Offseason Additions
The rich got even richer.
Los Angeles added star outfielder Kyle Tucker on a four-year, $240 million deal, further strengthening what was already the most dangerous lineup in baseball. Tucker has hit at least 22 home runs in five straight seasons and brings consistent power and run production.
The Dodgers also addressed the bullpen by signing Edwin Diaz to a three-year contract. Diaz has recorded at least 20 saves in seven of the past eight seasons and provides a proven late-inning option.
L.A. Dodgers Key Offseason Departures
On the field, the Dodgers are unlikely to feel much impact from their offseason losses. However, the clubhouse will be without one of its most important figures.
Clayton Kershaw retired following the 2025 season after an 18-year career in Los Angeles. While his role had diminished in recent seasons, his presence and leadership were significant.
Other departures include pitchers Tony Gonsolin, Kirby Yates, Andrew Heaney, and Michael Kopech. Backup outfielder Michael Conforto also left in free agency.
Los Angeles Dodgers Lineup and Roster Outlook for 2026
There are few weaknesses on this roster.
Offensively, the Dodgers remain loaded. Ohtani is coming off a 55-home-run season and has won back-to-back NL MVP awards. He is supported by Freeman, Betts, Tucker, and a lineup that features multiple players capable of producing at an elite level.
The starting rotation is just as imposing. Ohtani and Yamamoto headline a group that also includes Snell and Tyler Glasnow, giving Los Angeles one of the deepest and most talented rotations in baseball.
Los Angeles Dodgers Strengths and Weaknesses
The Dodgers’ strengths are obvious. Power hitting, elite starting pitching, and overall depth make this the most complete team in the league.
If there is a concern, it is relief pitching depth. While Diaz improves the back end of the bullpen, the Dodgers have had occasional issues in that area. Overall pitching depth beyond the core rotation could also become a factor over a long season.
Still, these are relatively minor questions for a team with this level of talent.
Dodgers Prediction and Best Bet for 2026
There is little value in backing the Dodgers at such short odds to win the World Series or National League, even if they remain the most likely team to do so.
Instead, the best betting angle may be Yoshinobu Yamamoto to win the NL Cy Young Award at +500.
Yamamoto was dominant in 2025, posting a 2.49 ERA and 0.99 WHIP while striking out more than 200 batters. He also delivered in the postseason, earning World Series MVP honours after allowing just two runs across 17.2 innings.
If he builds on that performance over a full season, Yamamoto is well positioned to contend for the Cy Young award in 2026.
