Without further ado, where does Kevin Gausman stand in the Blue Jays rotation?
Kevin Gausman the Blue Jays’ Pitching Rotation Ace?
With Alek Manoah having a bit of a topsy-turvy start to the current campaign and Jose Berrios still working out some pitching issues that resulted in poor starts, it begs the question as to whether Kevin Gausman stands apart as Toronto’s obvious No. 1 guy on the mound.
Although he completely agrees that Gausman is a terrific player, Gibbons puts some water into the pundits’ wine. There are other strong pitchers on the roster who can step up at any moment. In fact, the former manager goes to bat, so to speak, for Manoah.
“They also have guys like Manoah. This past weekend he stepped up under the pressure at Yankee Stadium and delivered like he did all last season.”
“Gibby” asserts that, generally, that question is truly answered when the playoffs begin. Who gets the call to go on the mound for Game 1 of a series is generally considered a club’s number one starter.
The Blue Jays are currently set at -303 to make the post-season.
