2025 MLB Odds: Anthony Santander returning to Blue Jays lineup vs. Red Sox

The Toronto Blue Jays announced some welcome injury news as outfielder Anthony Santander will return to the lineup on Wednesday night against the visiting Boston Red Sox.

Santander will return to the Jays lineup batting fifth and serving as the designated hitter.

It will be Santander’s first game action since May 29. He’s missed the last four months with a shoulder injury before being activated on Tuesday.

Santander was Toronto’s biggest off-season signing, but he struggled in 50 games before the injury. The 30-year-old is slashing .179/.273/.304 with six home runs and 18 RBs.

Santander had 44 home runs and 102 RBIs last season with the Baltimore Orioles before signing a five-year contract worth $92.5 million with the Blue Jays.

Toronto has already locked up a playoff spot and they currently hold a one-game lead over the Yankees for top spot in the AL East division and the American League.
