2020 Belmont Stakes Betting Odds and Prediction
The famed Belmont Stakes race is, in any other year, the third and final leg of the American Triple Crown. Due to schedule changes made in light of COVID-19, it will now be the first race of the Triple, and will take place Saturday, June 20. The New York Racing Association has shortened the distance of the race from 1 1/2 miles to 1 1/8 miles in order “to properly account for the schedule adjustments to the Triple Crown series and overall calendar for 3-year-olds in training.” Due to the configuration of the track, the race will be run with only one turn.
The Belmont Stakes post-position draw will take place on Wednesday, June 17 at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Florida Derby winner Tiz the Law is the clear favorite in the latest odds. He has won both of his starts this year and four of five races overall. His trainer, Barclay Tagg, won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness and finished third in the Belmont in 2003 with Funny Cide.
2020 Belmont Stakes Prediction
It’s hard to bet against the favourite this season, with Tiz the Law looking like a surefire winner. That said, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Dr. Post, currently priced at +555, pull of an upset at Belmont Park this weekend. Dr. Post is trained by Todd Pletcher and his most recent win came at the Unbridled Stakes. Pletcher has won the Belmont three times and his horses have finished in the money eleven times.
